One Bad Night

Once upon a time, there was a family of pigs living peacefully in their wooden house. The family consists of a mother and her three sons; George, Peter, and Barry. The three brothers all have very different behavior and often disagree with each other about things, so their mother always has to intervene in order to calm them down.

One day, a big bad wolf came to the woods. He was always hungry, and his favorite meal is roasted pork. News of the wolf's arrival spread quickly through the woods. A lot of the animals, even big carnivores like foxes, were scared of the wolf. They decided to abandon their homes and flee the woods. However, some animals refused to leave, including the family of pigs.

That night, the mother of the pigs told her kids to stay on alert in case the wolf comes to pick a fight with them. Each of the pigs guarded a different side of the house. They also carry a long sharp stick to defend themselves if the wolf attacks. They continue to do this for several nights, and after no sign of the wolf, George, the eldest brother, concluded that the wolf is never going to come. Against the warnings of his family, he decided to go out of the house in search of his favorite food.

After a few minutes out in the woods, George spotted something lurking in the bushes. He was terrified of what could be hiding there. He then turned around to go back to the house. Suddenly, the big bad wolf emerged from the bushes and started running towards him. George ran as fast as he can, screaming at the top of his lungs for help. When the house came into view, George can see his mother opening the front door.

George then came into the house as fast as he can. His mother instantly tried to lock the door, but the wolf was too fast. The wolf rammed the door, and the mother tried to block it from coming in. Eventually the door broke into pieces. The mother lay helpless on the floor, begging for the wolf to leave them alone. It then proceeded to bite into her neck, crushing it and killing her instantly.

Peter and Barry heard the commotion and rushed to the scene to find their mother dead, with blood spilling all over the floor. They can see the wolf slowly eating her. They continued staring in shock until it stared back at them. At that moment, Peter yelled for Barry to run as fast as possible. They then ran to the other side of the house where George was at. With no time to spare, they ran away from the house with no clear direction as to where they were going. They knew the wolf was following them, howling in the dark every so often.

In the morning, the three little pigs found themselves at the edge of the woods. They didn't spot any sign of the wolf, so they took the time to discuss what to do. They all agreed that coming back to their old house is not safe, as the wolf had probably already wrecked the place. That's when they all had no idea what should be done. George thinks they should build a cheap house made out of straws. Peter thinks the house should be built out of bricks, since it will protect them more effectively. Barry thinks they should just stay on the run.

The three little pigs decided to go on their separate ways. George and Peter started building their houses, each not bothering the other. Barry went back into the woods, covering himself with leaves and mud so he can disguise himself and blend in with the environment. By noon, George had finished his straw house and had locked himself in. Peter can hear George snoring in his sleep from across the field. He continued building his house until it was completed at nightfall. He felt secure, but lonely without anyone else there.

That night, Barry was still walking through the woods when he heard a noise coming from the bushes. He first thought it was George or Peter before he remembered that they were in the fields and wasn't with him anymore. He was about to take a peek to investigate when he saw what was clearly the wolf's eye. Barry instantly ran away from the scene. When he looked back, he saw the wolf just slowly walking, not even running. It was grinning with its full set of sharp teeth shown. Barry can hear it laughing.

When he got to the fields, he was confused as to what to do next. Then an idea cam up to him. Maybe if the wolf can get one of them, it will leave the other two alone. Who he'd sacrifice was an easy question. George had always been a terrible brother. He'd constantly force Peter and him to do chores around the house when their mother wasn't looking. It didn't surprise anyone that almost all problems with their family was caused by George.

Barry then walked back to where he came from, doing his best to look calm. As he expected, the wolf was surprised to see that one of the pigs had actually walked towards it. It then asked him what he was doing. Barry answered with completely honesty as to what his motives are. The wolf was confused, but at the same time intrigued. It didin't fully agree with the deal, though. It would give Barry and Peter a week to get away before continuing to hunt them.

Barry sighed. He knew Peter wasn't a terrible brother, and the two are more agreeable with each other than they are with George. However, what must be done for him to live longer is more important to him. He reluctantly agreed with the wolf's terms and the two begin to enact their plan.

George was sleeping in his straw house when he heard continuous knocking coming from the door. He first thought it was the wolf, but Barry's voice soon called out to him, begging for George to let him in, as he was being chased by the . George only took a second to come up with a loud 'No' for an answer. The knocking continued for several more moments before it finally stopped.

Barry wasn't surprised to see that George had easily refused to let him in. With a stern look on his face, he signalled for the wolf to do what they've planned. The wolf then walked to the front of the house. It took a deep breath that seems to last for an eternity. Then, with one big blow, it exhaled all the air within its body, powerful enough to knock the straw house off its foundation and tear it apart completely.

In the mere seconds that the complete destruction of his house happened, George was completely caught off guard. He was even more surprised to see Barry just standing next to the wolf. He was about to shout at Barry, but was interrupted by the sight of the wolf towering over him before it proceeded to decapitate him in one clean bite. Throughout the entire event, Barry remained silent. He was never a big fan of violence, so he walked away from the gruesome sight towards Peter's house.

When he got there, it only took a few knocks and a well-acted panic for Peter to open the door and let him in. He told him that George had been killed by the wolf and that his house was now in utter ruins. Peter told him to calm down, and so Barry stopped his pretend game. Peter explained to him that at least they still have each other, and that his brick house is much stronger and will not get destroyed by the wolf. He assured him that they will find a way out of the terrible situation soon enough. Barry hopes Peter's right. He only has a week left, after all.
