Kaleb's Pov

I caught her in my arms. I knew the reason why I wanted her to become a vampire was selfish but I needed her, I needed her body next to mine for all eternity.

I laid her on my bed and covered her up with the sheets, pecking her forehead with my lips. I knew she was going to wake up in a few hours, but I needed to talk to the clan about the whole bloodworth situation. We had already found three of their vampires on our territory, probably trying to snoop around but I had to know more.

My best friend's name is Jackson. He's the one who does the beating and getting the answer out of spies or rogues. Veronica and my other bestfriend James trains the new initiates. I offered Veronica another job but she said she could handle it. That's my sister, she always has been so strong. I guess she always had to be.

I sighed and walked out of my room, looking back one more time at Danny. She looked so beautiful. Both her hands were on her stomach and her held tilted to the left. I couldn't let them take her. I stood there for a few seconds longer and left.

I texted the clan to meet me in the living room. After about 10 minutes, everyone was crowding around sitting on the couch. Even Travis who we never saw because he was always patrolling the house, even though I told him he didn't have to since I already had men on that, but he insisted.

"Listen up, we need to put our best foot forward, because as you all know the bloodworth clan has become a growing concern.

Everyone nodded in agreement. So I continued.

"We need to tighten up security , speed up training, and being very discrete in our actions. Bloodworth has spies everywhere, so keep an open eye." I said looking everyone in the eye to make sure they understood. This was big, and I needed to make sure everyone was focused.

Travis raised his hand and I nodded for him to speak.

"There has been no unusual movement going on outside the gate, Count."

"Good, But that could change at any moment, so don't let your guard down. Any of you." I said sternly.

Everyone nodded in sync and kept their eyes on me waiting for me to continue.

"I've been recruiting new people in to help, only the strong and smart get recruited."

"The girl you recruited recently, she's neither so why is she here? Veronica looked calm, but her words held anger.

"Not now V. Just give her a chance, I'm sure she will prove to us that she has what it takes." I said clenching my jaw. She just could be so stubborn sometimes. She use to never use to disagree with me on anything, but things changed the day mom and dad died. let's just say she dealt with her demons one way, and I another.

"I don't think so." She said while walking off.

I rubbed my temples and turned back to the clan. "Your dismissed." I spat.

I felt someone shove my shoulders from behind. It must have been Jackson because no one dared to touch me like that without my permission. It was Jackson, as I had predicted.

"Good luck!" he said with a smirk. When I gave him the finger he just laughed louder. Fuck him. I left him in the room laughing by himself. I needed to find Veronica. I needed to talk to her. She had no right to talk to me like that in front of the clan.

I finally found her in her room writing in her diary. She only did that when she was stressed about something. I just barged in. I mean I don't like knocking in my own house.

"What gives you the right to talk to me like that." I said angrily.

"I can talk to you however I like, you're not mom or dad. Dad would have picked more wisely, and he sure wouldn't have allowed the weakest of humans to join the clan just because of the effect they had on his dick." She was still writing but wrote faster the longer I stood there

I was furious. I wanted to yell at her, punish her. But she was my sister and I promised to protect her. No matter how much she irritated me I had to be there for her, I had to listen to anything she has to say. I know with her yelling isn't the answer. I took a deep breath and unclenched my fist.

"I'm not dad, I'll never be dad, But I am trying. If I think the direction we're going in is best for the clan ,then that's the way it is. I expect you to have my back on these things. Because I will always have yours.

"She finally looked up at me. I couldn't read what she was thinking since we were a royal family, and royal siblings couldn't read each others mind.

"Whatever."

"Just trust me." I said letting out a breath.

"Okay, fine, If It'll get you off my back. I'll be more open." she said while rolling her eyes.

"Thanks baby sis." I said with a beaming smile.

She got up and started backing up. She knew what was coming, a big sloppy wet one.

"Come here vv." I said in a deep baby voice. I lunged for her but she used her vampire speed to run across the room. But I've always been faster. I finally caught her and kissed all over her face.

"What the fuck Kaleb! I hate that shit." she said while trying to rub all the slobber from her face.

"Yeah, I know that's why I love doing it." I said with a smirk

She glared at me and sat back down in her chair and continued to write in her diary.

"KALEB!"

I heard my name. I knew It was none other than Danny waking up from the dead. I knew she was going to be slightly upset because didn't even tell her that I was going to snap her neck,  but she'll get over it. I just didn't want her to think about it, I just wanted her to think about her last moments, I wanted her to feel nothing but happiness.

"Shit." I muttered

"I hope she kicks your balls in big bro." I looked over to Veronica and gave her a death glare which only made her smirk.

I walked out of V's room and made my way to my room, where Danny waited for me. New and filled with fire. I stood at the entrance for awhile.

"Well here we go." I said aloud before turning the knob.
