Night shot up as he was shaken awake as he had fallen asleep while they were on break from their normal patrol. He groaned as his head slightly hurt from a headache he was trying to get rid of. He looked up into the grinning face of his best friend, Persivell. The young red haired man laughed at the groggy look on his Captain's face.
"Wake up, Night!" Persivell cheerfully announced, his pale green eyes sparkling with excitement. If it wasn't for his goofy personality, Night was sure that his best friend would be a hit with the ladies. He was extremely attractive with short, slight curly deep red hair. It often reminded Night of fire. Persivell was almost as tall as Night himself and was definitely has a much lighter skin tone then Night's very dark skin. Since he was in the royal guard, the red head had some intense muscles that made themselves known through his thin shirt.
"How long was I asleep?" Night inquired, yawning slightly. He hadn't gotten much sleep last night as his little brother, Nicholas, had had nightmares and seeked Night for comfort. Night stood and stretched, the muscles on his dark skin protruding through. He wasn't as muscled as Persivell but he was still quite well built. His pale blue eyes looked around the area as he remembered that they had stopped and rested at the edge of town, where hardly anyone passed by. He pushed his long, midnight black hair out of his face as it was getting annoying. He was always considering cutting it but never went through with it as his father always told him that his hair reminding him of his mother.
"About an hour." Persivell chuckled. "You slept like a baby so I couldn't bare waking you up any earlier."
"You mean you got distracted by something and forgot about me?" Night scoffed, knowing his childhood friend too well.
"Guilty as charged." The red headed boy laughed, knowing he couldn't get anything past Night. "There were just these pretty ladies and I had just had to know their names."
Night shook his head in disbelief that he was left behind for some girls that Persivell most likely failed at getting their names. "You ready to finish the patrol?" Night asked and started walking forward.
"Aye- aye Captain!" Persivell yelled out and caused both the men to laugh as the few people who were around stared at them. They walked around the outskirts of the town, looking out for people who needed help or criminals. Just as their patrol was about to end, Night ran into someone. The smaller figure made an 'oof' sound and fell back on his butt with a groan. The hood the small man was wearing fell off his head, cause Night to blush at how beautiful he was.
The now unhooded figure glared at Night as the dark skinned man held out a hand to help him up. Night looked the man over as he had never seen anything like him. The smaller man was tan skinned and despite his small size you could see some muscle underneath all his clothing. He had robin blue hair with dark blue highlights that was slicked back out of his face. His eyes were the color of an autumn day and had two black triangles underneath them. His entire body was covered In clothing from head to toe, looking as if he was hiding something. Night didn't get long to look as his hand stung from the smaller man hitting it away harshly.
"I don't need some royal scum's help." The unknown man growled, getting up on his own. "And maybe next time you should watch where you're going instead of prancing around like you're above everyone." Night was taken aback as it's been awhile since he's meant anyone this hostile.
"I'm sorry?" Night apologized, tilting his head slightly in confusion. "I didn't mean to run into you and I'm definitely not prancing around like I'm better than everyone else."
"Let's just go, Night." Persivell said, grabbing the dark skinned man's arm and trying to pull him away but was halted in his tracks as an angry man was running towards them. The blue haired boy quickly took off running as the angry old man starting screaming something about the boy being a thief.
