"Don't worry, mom, it's Gonna be okay!" You blinked and stared blankly at your 11 year old son. You tried to think. You had twins, Jason and Alex. They looked so similar you got them mixed up sometimes. The boy in front of you had blue streaks running through strawberry blonde hair. He had pale skin littered in freckles and had soft light blue eyes. He was wearing a black shirt with blue jeans and flip flops. Weird. It was winter, wasn't it?
You groaned and tried to sit up, but got pulled down when the cords and tubes made a yanking sound. Where were you?You were in the hospital. Where was Alex? You stared hyperventilating and graves Jason's arm." Where's Alex? Jason!"
Jason looked at you and laughed a little. "It's dads week with him? Remember? The social services person asked who we wanted to stay with and I said you while Jason said you and dad. He travels every three weeks."
You breathed a sigh of relief. Good. He was safe. But why were you here? Attached to a breathing tube and cords and a heart monitor. "What happened Jason? We were eating dinner... What happened?"
Jason smiled, his eyes tearing up. "Someone poisoned you mom. We were eating when all the sudden... I called 911 and got an ambulance. They said they had to drain your stomach and in the process they found a tumour. They removed it but you were out a while."
You looked worried. You started to feel the stitches, tracing your fingers along the crossed lines through the thin fabric of the night gown.
The doctor walked in just in time to notice the heart monitor slowing.
He frowned and pressed a button, buzzing nurses to come. He grabbed Jason and started pulling him out of the room.
Jason started screaming and crying, his limbs flailing trying to run to you. "Mom! Mom, no please, mom no. LET ME GO! I need to be by her.... I need to be by her."
Jason got looses and ran to your side as your heart monitor slowed even more. Your eyes were started to close as you moved your hair out of your eyes and whispered. "Mom. I love you. It's okay. We love you."
You smile and whisper. "I love you too." As the nurses carried him out and everything went black.------------••—••
