It was almost the end of the school year, and Haileys Birthday was only weeks away.
*Hailey's POV*
I heard the alarm go off at 6:30, but I was already awake, I'm usually already up doing something in my room since no one was up yet, except dad but he was out picking up hay from the Reynolds house. Although I do like some peace and quiet sometimes..."brrrrrring!!" My alarm clock rattled and shook noisely... "Shhhh!" I wishpered quietly to myself as I was trying to run over to the alarm clock quickly but quietly, and turn it off.I then returned to my desk by the window and watched for dad to pull up it usually only takes him about 10 minutes to get there and back, I went downstairs to get a glass of milk when I saw my dad pull into the driveway. I quickly went upstairs to get dressed and I ran downstairs and out the door to go help him I don't know why I liked to unload hay but I guess I've just been doing it for so long. Dad had already unloaded the first bail of hay.He barely noticed me come out and start to help him.
As I walked past him with some hay I simply said, "Goodmorning."He replied with a smile, "goodmorning sunshine how was ur morning so far?" I didn't really feel good that morning and I had to go pick up a new horse with him,but I didn't want to make him do it alone....."Um... Its been good, I've been waiting for you to get here." I slowly walked into the barn and sat down the bail of hay.
*Dad's POV*
I was driving down the road to the Reynolds house to grab some hay for the horses back home. The Reynolds have been helping out about 5 weeks after we got the place, they've been giving us hay in exchange for giving his daughter, Gracye horseback riding lessons. Hailey and Gracye met when we first moved here and they met Tori but Grayce and Tori werent as dedicated to horses as Hailey was.Anyway they all are the greatest of friends, so great that they couldn't live without each other... Seriously. As I pulled into the Reynolds driveway I found their dog Hank, greeting me with a enthusiastic bark. "Hey ol' buddy whatcha doing."Hank is old but he still gets around very well. "Well, goodmorning Dale," I heard someone say. I was sure it was Frank, "Hey how's yalls mornin' going,"They had a family of 4."Alright, we're doin' alright, well I know what your here for but why don't you come in and have a plate of sausage, eggs, and biscuits and gravy." I wasn't sure of what to say, they never offered me this before.
I wonder why they are being so nice to me eh... Probably finding another way to pay me back for coming and getting the hay instead of him bring it.
"Sure why not." Soon I was stuffed up and ready to go Frank usually helps me stuff the hay into the back my truck, but since I was eating he went ahead and put it in the back of the truck for me. I walked out to the truck and thanked Frank and his family for everything.
Soon, I was already home ready to get some coffee after unloading the hay... I un latched the ropes that held the hay in steady. I walked into the barn and put the hay down coming back I already saw Hailey comin' in the barn with some hay "goodmorning."she said as she walked by, "goodmorning sunshine how's your morning going so far." She stopped for a second as if she was hesitating to speak, "um... Its been good... I've been waiting for you to get here."
Hmm... That's odd she doesn't usually hesitate to speak to me...???
