Calm Before the Storm

Part 4

As the sun slowly rose from behind the tall buildings, its rays shined through Lauren's room and she immediately wished she hadn't forgotten to close her curtains last night. She desperately tried to go back to sleep, tossing and turning in her place for hours until she just gave up. She reached for her phone on her bedside table and checked the time. 9:00am, her phone read.

She placed the device back down before turning to the figure beside her. There was Camila, the covers pulled just underneath her shoulders. Her hair was sprawled out and both her arms were resting on either side of her head on the pillow. The sun didn't bother her because of the positioning of Lauren's bed against the wall. The angle that the sun hit was directly on Lauren but some created small spots on Camila's back that was exposed as she laid on her stomach.

The events of last night was clear in her head as she stared at the brunette beside her. She definitely wore her out with the 'tour' she gave her. Lauren didn't think she still had it in her to do all that to someone else but she still did it, with Camila begging for more every time until they both ended up on her bed. Camila was so exhausted that she knocked out as soon as she was underneath the covers.

Lauren shifted onto her side, propping her head up with her arm as she gazed at the smaller girl. Even while she was asleep, her beauty was breathtaking. Reaching her arm over, she began to trace small circles on Camila's back. She first spelled out Camila's name, then her own before leaning down to press a soft kiss on her bare shoulder.

"Good morning to you too." Lauren's head shot up as she heard a soft, raspy voice by her ear. Her eyes met with Camila's half-closed ones. A smirk was on Camila's face, having caught Lauren's soft touches on her back then on her shoulder.

Lauren's began to blush as she realized that she had been caught. "I'm sorry I woke you."

"It's okay." Camila tried to lift her head in an attempt to get a better view of Lauren in the morning but the exhaustion was too strong and it fell right back onto the pillow. "It was a nice way to wake up."

Lauren couldn't help but laugh at how tired Camila was. She wasn't sure if it was her or if it was due to Camila not getting much sleep at night because of work.

"I was going to leave in the middle of the night. I wasn't sure if you wanted me here in the morning or not," Camila announced softly, her eyes now fully closed and a soft smile on her face, "but I was too tired and I didn't know where my clothes were." She said truthfully.

"Of course I wanted you here. Why wouldn't I?" Lauren was slightly taken aback by Camila thinking she would want her to leave.

"We just had our first date last night, Lauren." Camila opened her eyes and slowly turned around so that she was on her side facing Lauren, her arm propping her head up just like hers. "I broke a whole bunch of my 'first date rules'."

"Breaking a few rules never hurt anyone."

Camila looked at her pointedly before rolling her eyes, "Try saying that to a criminal."

"You know what I mean." Lauren rolled her eyes as well, a smile spreading across her lips.

For two people who had just met over a week ago and only had their first date last night, they were in a very intimate position. Camila always had the rule of not kissing someone on the first date. She made sure to establish the line of intimacy that would not be crossed until she figured out if the dates will eventually become something more. It also showed her exactly who were the ones that only wanted to sleep with her.

Lauren was the only one she allowed to break that rule and it terrified her. They had only known each other for a week and here she was, waking up beside Lauren after a night of mind-blowing sex. She had placed herself in a situation that she had avoided for so long. But for some reason, Camila didn't regret it at all. How could she when right now, at this moment, she had such a beautiful woman staring down at her?
