Beautiful People Beautiful Problems (feat. Stevie Nicks) by Lana Del Rey

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Okay... Okay... Mhm... Okay thank you." Jaeden hangs up.
"So?" I slide off the hood of the car. "What'd they say?"
"We need to do them favors every once in awhile but other wise they said yes." Jaeden lets out a sigh of relief. "We can stay there as long as we help out."
I give him a nod.
"What kind of favors?" I ask lighting up a cigarette.
"Oh ya know, clean up after ourselves, help with dinner. Shit like that." Jaeden shrugs as he leans against the car.
"Any real favors?" I ask, hoping Jaeden was smart enough to know what I was getting at.
"They said if they need any help they'll ask, but they don't want us interfering with their business." Jaeden lights his own cigarette off the end of mine. He takes a quick drag. "So we probably won't be asked, unless something happens."
I nod.
"Did they say what kind of business they've been in?" I ask.
"They didn't specify who but most of it's about turf wars." Jaeden lets smoke from his mouth. "It's mostly personal so they want us to stay out of it."
"Understandable." I pluck the cigarette out of my mouth and drop it to the ground, putting it out with the heel of my boot. I take Jaeden's square and take a quick drag before handing to out to him.  "I'd want the same."
Jaeden gives me a frown and snatches his smoke back, takes a drag and leans against van.
"Get me a soda." Jaeden mumbles as he hands me a ten. "Not Pep-"
"Not Pepsi." I finish for him. "I know."
I walk into the gas station and head to the soda fill. I keep my eyes away from the identical missing child poster we had seen at the last SA. I fill up a large with Coke and reach to pluck a straw from the small bucket.
My hand hits another and I look up. I see curly black hair and big brown eyes. Light freckles peppered his face as he stared into my own soft (e/c) hues.
"(Y/n)?" He spoke softly.
I feel the Coke slip from my hands and splash onto the ground and my shoes. I pull him into a hug as he lays a hand on the back of my head.
"Where have you been?" I whisper as I feel the sting of tears behind my eyes. Finn holds me tighter whispering quiet words of reassurance into my ear.
I want to be mad at him. I want to slap him across the face for not calling. For leaving us behind. For everything. But the fact that he's hear. That he's safe overcomes it all.
"Where have you been?" I repeat my voice comes out quiet and forced as I choke back tears.
Finn just repeats the same words.
"I'm sorry."
"Sorry doesn't fix it. You know that Finn."
"I know, I'm just happy you're okay."
I can feel the air getting heavy as the hug lingers much longer than it should.
The tears fall despite my attempts to stop them. I tangle my hand in his curly locks and hug him tighter as if he was about to disappear.
"Don't you ever worry me like that ever again." I whisper. I try to get angry. I try so hard, but I just can't do it. I missed him too much to be mad.
"I won't. I promise I won't."
"Promise?" I whisper into his ear.
"Promise." He whispers back.
I can't let go of him. I want to but I can't. I finally get the courage to do so. I slowly pull away. Getting a good look at him. I smile as another tear slips out of my eyes.
"God you haven't changed." I whisper running a thumb over his freckled cheek.
Finn raises an eyebrow.
"Who am I kidding? You've changed so much. You're so tall now. And your hair is so long and curly. Even your teeth!" I laugh as I examine him more.
Fin smiles down on me.
"You haven't changed." He speaks honestly. "I missed you, (Y/n)."
"Then why didn't you call?" I whine, my voice cracking at the end. More tears spilling.
"I wanted to. I tried so hard. But I couldn't."
"Why? Where were you where you couldn't?"
"I was in the hospital. They took me and did screens. They had to do a complete flush." Finn spoke solemnly. He was talking about drugs.
"Dammit, Finn." I drop my head, hitting his chest. I wrap my hand in his. Intertwining our fingers. It felt so nice to touch him again. It felt so nice to hear his heartbeat.
"Who have you been with? Or is it just you?"
"Just me. No strings attached." I smile and watch his lips perk into a smile.
God that smile. So fucking perfect.
I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him. Oh I've missed this. Finn kisses me back holding my waist firmly. We part for air, a string of saliva connecting us.
"I fucking adore you, Finn Wolfhard."
"I love you too, (Y/n)."
