"LETS GOOOOOOOOO!!" Iggy screamed as I screamed with her.

"MELBOURNE MELBOURNE MELBOURNE" I chanted as we ran towards the bus that had stopped especially for us as we went to get it and missed it. So after running and screaming after it we managed to flag it down

"I'm so psyched!" I squealed as I climbed onto the bus took my seat next to Iggy. A young boy sat in front of me turned and started to stare at me so waved at him and he waved back showing a cute gap toothed smile.

"We're going to have the best time, just you wait" Iggy gushed as the bus started to move.

"Iggy! Take a photograph!" I laughed.

"Mel you're such a tourist!" Iggy nearly keeled over laughing, my phone in one hand and her koala toy in the other. Just as I'd finished posing I heard someone speak behind me, about me.

"Mummy why has she got nearly no hair?"

I turned to see a little blonde girl pulling at her mums jumper and pointing at me, suddenly her mother pushed her daughters arm down. "I'm so sorry" her mum gushed, a face full of worry as she looked at me just in case her daughter might have insulted me.

"Don't worry about it" I smiled as I knelt down to the little girls height. "I used to have gorgeous blonde hair like you!" I took her blonde plait in my hand and she smiled.

"But I'm not very well, so it's all gone! But don't worry, you won't have to worry about losing your hair because you have lots and lots and the little fairies won't let your hair go anywhere" The young girl smiled as put her hand out and touched my head. It took me by surprise and I didn't know what to do, but when she giggled and pulled her hand away I knew not moving was a good idea.

"It feels so cool and spiky" she giggled to her mum.

"Come along now darling let's go, sorry, you're very wonderful you know, I wish you all the best" her mother smiled at me putting her hand on my shoulder before walking away. "Thank you, bye!" I waved at the little girl as she waved back.I sighed and turned to Iggy who looked like she was about to cry.

"Mel you're the best" she managed to choke as she pulled me Into her arms.

"Iggy please don't cry" I smiled tearing up slightly hugging her back

"Come on, we have more to see hey?!" I took her hand and she held onto mine as we wandered off to explore what other wonders Melbourne had to offer.

*******************************

I fell back onto my little motel bed, I was absolutely fucked, my feet ached and my whole body felt numb. I rolled over clutching my kangaroo plushie and curled up into a ball when my phone started to vibrate beside my head.

"Hello?" I mumbled, too tired to look at caller ID.

"Is this an okay time for my only phone call of the trip?" I heard Barnets soothing voice down the line and I couldn't help but smile.

"Yeah, so baby, how are you?"

"I'm good thank you Mel, how about you? How you holding up? You sound pretty tired?".

"Tired doesn't even cut it" I laughed as I rolled onto my back.

"So, I spoke to Vanessa today"

He sprung that one on me fast. "And?"

"I told her that the kiss meant nothing and that she's to stay out of my life, oh and one of her friends gave me her number and said to give it too you? She said she spoke to you aaaaages ago but she never had the chance to give it too you" My mind went blank, when I suddenly remember one of Vanessa's minions telling me she'd like to be friends before she we walked our separate ways.

"Oh yeah! I remember her! And good, at least she's off our back now" I sighed.

"Oh and we have a new companion in bed with us now" I laughed.

"Oh god what is it?"

"It's Joey the kangaroo" I giggled.

"You're so cute baby! It's okay, we'll make room. So, you're not still mad at me?" Barnet questioned down the phone.

"I can't stay mad at you baby" I smiled, I could tell he was smiling too.

"I'm glad, cause I gotta ask, do you fancy trying the other night again? When you get home? Please"

I thought back to when the word "Vanessa" left his mouth, but I couldn't say no because I craved every inch of Barnets body on mine most of the time, and I loved him.

"Of course we can baby, I love you"

"I love you too Melody" he cooed down the phone, I smiled and let out a little giggle.

"I've gotta go to sleep I'm so damn tired from today, so I'll speak to you when we get home yeah? Cause this is your one phone call and all" I yawned and laughed all at the same time turning it into a big choking session.

"Yeah baby, don't choke now! But yeah, I'll speak to you then, I'll be waiting for you baby girl"

"I'll be anticipating you and your touch baby".

"Bye you".

"Bye baby" He hung up and I threw my phone onto the sofa across the room smiling.

I closed my eyes, I'd had such a wonderful day with Iggy. All was well with Barnet and I had finally embraced my cancer, it want getting the better of me, not at all, I'll fight until the day the world stops turning. I felt content, so relaxed and so fulfilled for once in so long. I rolled over and climbed into bed, pulling the covers over me and feeling into a deep sleep with Joey under my arm, super happy. But one things for sure,

Nothing could have prepared me for the panic that followed the next day
