The Older Holmes

"I know all about you..."

You carefully sit down in the chair, careful so as not to crumple or wrinkle your skirt.

"Miss (L/N)." Mycroft Holmes gave you a fake smile. You didn't acknowledge it. You kept your face clear of any expression.

"To what do I owe the pleasure, Mr. Holmes?" You ask him. His fake smile falters. "It seems that you already know my name," he says. You roll your eyes and lean in a little. "I know all about you, Mr. Holmes. You are quite the older brother, I hear," you say. You've begun to lean in more.

Mycroft swallows. Your face is mere centimetres from his, which he is quite uncomfortable about. "I do not wish to speak of my brother at the moment. There are more important matters that we must discuss," he says.

You laugh, sitting back in your chair. "Like what? Assassinating your brother's 'arch nemesis'?" You ask, wiping your eyes from tears that welled up as you kept up your fit of laughter. Mycroft scowls at you.

"James Moriarty is an evil mastermind. He is highly capable of committing crimes more atrocious than you could ever imagine. Miss (L/N), this is not a matter to be taken lightly. I am entrusting you with this task. You must be rid of him. If you cannot complete this task, our trust in you will terminate. As will your life. Is this clear?" Mycroft asks, getting louder by the second.

You roll your eyes. "Mr. Holmes, I am perfectly capable of the task you have placed in my hands. I was only teasing you. Of course the task is clear, and I understand the concern you have for your brother. You should have no doubt that I can do this. Now, my question is when can I start, because this chit chat is taking up my time," you say.

Mycroft sighs. He puts his head in one hand, and with the other, waves you away. You quirk a smile. "Thanks, Mycroft. I'll call you when it's done," you say, opening the door. At this, he perks up. "You have my number?" He asks. You nod. "Sherlock told me," you say, closing the door.

"Of course he did," he says
