Chapter 3•
*Jace's POV*
As I walked in, Clary and Isabelle were in the living room crying their eyes out and making plans for a girls' night out. "Seriously, Isabelle." Clary was saying. Her voice sounded like bells from Heaven to my ears. My heart skipped a beat. "You have to make commitment. Simon won't stay around if you're not loyal to him,"
Isabelle smiled. "Fine. But we're still on for girls' night, right?" she asked. Clary laughed.
I interrupted. "Hey, Izzy," I winked at my fiancé , and kissed her cheek sloppily, leaving a wet spot. She groaned and wiped at it but kept the smile on her face. "Clary,"
Clary frowned. "I asked you if you wanted to come this morning. How did you get here so fast anyways?"
Isabelle gestured to his stele in his pocket, still burning with light. "He must have Portalled here. Goddamn it, Jace, you know how much that messes up my yard," she smiled half-heartedly.
I smirked. I said to Clary,
"To answer your question, I was currently in a state of depression and unable to lift my body out of the comfortable bed. So what's this about a girl's night out, eh?" I asked them. I didn't comment on Isabelle's lack in style. Her clothes were plain and boring but she was going trough rough times, losing Alec and Maryse. Her family... Mine too, but that was before Clary and I got married.
"Ah, ah, ah," Isabelle said disapprovingly. "Not your night out,"
I raised an eyebrow. "I am fashionable enough to be a girl and manly enough to be a man,"
Clary bit her lip as if to keep from saying something unintelligent and quite rude. Instead she said, "It's a woman's night out, then,"
Isabelle looped her arm with mine. "We can do something now though," she said. "Since you've been so motivated to get out of bed. Come, let us take a trip to the mall. I need to buy some new dresses."
Clary shrugged. "I need some new clothes. Casual- wear, of course,"
*Clary's POV*
As we drew a Portal, because none of us really wanted to drive, I squeezed Jace's hand, and smiled weakly at him. He squeezed back and then leaned down and kissed me, cupping my cheek and kissing me deeply and passionately. I felt our bodies mold together like we were made for each other, because it seemed like we were almost all the time, and I kissed him back harder, grateful for the moment we had together. The world around us melted into nothing, me and Jace together with each other and our most likely erotic thoughts.
Isabelle suddenly cleared her throat,
Saying, "Right here, guys. Jace, I'm your sister. Clary, your best friend..."
I pulled away, embarrassed, and mumbled under my breath, "Right. Sorry,"
Jace chuckled.
As we stepped through the portal, I noticed Jace go stiff. He had that same rabid look in his eyes that he usually got when he was hunting demons or thinking about hunting demons.
"What?" I asked him. I looked at Isabelle but she was rigid and quite too.
Jace said, "There's a demon following us," he spoke quietly like it mattered. The demon was right behind them. He could probably hear all the stuff they were saying. I looked behind me, quickly, before getting out my stele.
Jace hissed at me, "What are you doing!?" He grabbed my wrists before I could not draw anything with the stele.
"I'm putting on glamour," I said back between my teeth, as I touched the stele to my wrist, drawing hastily. "It's time to kick some demon ass."
