Princess Venus

Chapter 1

Ten years later
I put on a blind fold, and hold my stance as I wait for them to attack. I sense a slight movement and send a huge gust of wind to knock them down. Another movement and I visualize a fire circle around them. Another movement and I drench them in a wave of water, knocking them down. Another movement and I tangle their feet in a root, stopping anymore movement. I feel multiple movements and send a mixture of fire and wind to stop them from moving any closer.

*Ring*

The bell sounds and I take the blindfold off, and let my eyes adjust to the light. I see everyone standing up and I help some of the closest people to me up. I focus on releasing others from the roots, and dowsing the fire around others.

I turn and look at the elders who are applauding me from their seats on the outside of the force field they placed around me.

"Well done Venus, I am very pleased with your progress over the years." Elder Idona yells, so I can hear her through the force field.

She removes the force field and I walk out. Pearl walks up to me, and I kneel down and pet her head.

"Go get some rest, you have a big day tomorrow." Elder Idona quietly says.

I say my thanks and follow Pearl back to our room. I walk in and look around the room, the roots grew through the floor and formed my bed frame, while not doing much damage to my wooden floors. I go over and move my white bed sheets and pull them away from the top of the bed. I sit on the bed and look over to the nightstand and stare at the rose that has twisted around the nightstand legs. I stand up and go to the dresser and before I can reach it a knock sounds on the door.

"Come in!" I say.

My nanny Leah walks in to help me prepare for bed. My father sent her here with me when I first came to live with Elder Idona. He claimed it would "take some of the stresses of careing for a child off of the elder".

She helps me into a nightgown and walks me over to my bed. I crawl in and she blows out my candle and walks out. I feel Pearl climb on the bed and drift off to sleep.

I roll over and look out at the night sky. I watch as the stars dance around the moon, sparkling as they move. I watch them untill my eyes grow heavy. I slowly fall into a deep sleep

I awaken to someone shaking me slightly.

"Your heighness, I have been told to pack your clothing for you, I laid out something for you to wear. Elder Idona has told me that breakfest is made and dont worry about your chores for today." She says that while taking my bags out and puuting clothing in them. I look at the outfit she has for me. A long blue and white dress, with a hood, the white runs down the middle and the rest is blue, a gold rope on the chest.

"Will you help me, the tie is frustrating." I huff. She glances over and quickly helps only to go back to packing.

I watch her for a minute then head out of the room and down the hall. I run my hand along the wall, and look at the paintings. As I get to the end of the haalway I look up to see Leah's bags already packed in front of her room. I go to grab the door handle to her room but a voice stops me.

Don't go into that room, its not yours. Just come eat breakfast

Pearl, I look down the hallway and see her standing there, her blue eyes staring me down, willing me away from the door. I sigh in defeat and walk down to her. She walks behind me all the way to the kitchen.

I grab a plate and pick up a muffin a peice of bacon and an apple. Just as I am about to bite the apple a loud knock sounds from the front door. Elder Idona goes to the door and opens it slightly. I hear slight whispering, than the door opens fully to reveal a man dressed in the palace uniform.

I try to hear what their whispering about but Leah walks in and sets down my bags, and she goes to get hers panting slightly.

"Leah, let me help you." I say she goes to protest but I quickly walk by her, down the hall, to retreive her bags. I hear her sigh and sit down next to Pearl.

As I walk down the hall I start to hear whispering, as I get closer to the end of the hallway it gets louder, until i reach the door. I put my hands over my ears to try to quiet the whispers but they don't stop.

I slowly reach forward to grab the handle, the voices chanting louder until my hands on the handle. The voices are now screaming at me to open it. I turn the handle but someone grabs my wrist and yanks it off of the handle. Something takes over and a womans voice tells me to fight, I go to burn the person but as soon as I turn around the voice stops. I look up to see that the gaurd had grabbed my hand after, I assume, Elder Idona sensed something was wrong.

I start to feel a little tired, Leah comes foward and chacks my hands and face to make sure nothings wrong. She walks me to my room and is soon followed by the Elder and then the gaurd. When the gaued walks in he gives a slight bow and then exits the room.

"What happened?" Elder Idona asks. I start exsplaining the voices, and how loud they were. Than I told her what I could hear.

"-and there was a womans voice who told me to fight. As soon as she told me to, its like something took over me." I explain.

The elders face pales she looks at Leah who also looks worried.

"Who's voice was it?" she asks

Something takes over me again excepy I can only hear not see or speak.

The womans voice responds, "You know who I am Idona."

The feeling leaves and I get my sight and speech back. I look at Elder Idona and Leah and they are both pale with fear.

"You have to leave imedientaly,"She grabs my arm and yanks me up, she rushes me out of the room with Leah close behind, "Take her to the king immediently."

I start feeling lightheaded, everything starts spinning. I feel my body land on the floor before my vision goes black.
