   Chapter 4

"Hey! Kyung!" Baekhyun ran closer to me.

I was trying very hard to avoid him. I didn't want him to find out about my feelings. I didn't want to be hurt. I ducked my head and walked faster.

His hand grasped my arm. A sensation of pain went up my arm.

"Ah!" I yelled as pain ran up my arm.

"Yah. Didn't you want to know what happened?" he asked.

   "Not really," I mumbled.

   "What?"

   "Nothing."

"Well, we went to the movies together. We watched this really romantic movie and she leaned on my shoulder-"

I couldn't take it. I ran off and didn't look back.

   "Hey!"

I walked even faster. I was just walking around in circle for no reason, but I didn't want to hear about his date. The idea of him and someone else hurt me.

"Kyung! What's-" I cut him off before he could continue.

"So the date went well? Did you love it when she leaned on your shoulder and those things? HUH!? Do you like her that much?"

   "Well..."

"Then date her! I don't need to hear about your date!"

He stared at me. He blinked rapidly and said nothing. He looked at me with a confused look and almost...embarrassment. I flushed red and bolted off towards to our neighborhood. Tears began to fill my eyes, but I wiped them away with the heel of my hands.

I ran inside and locked the door. Then I headed for my room and shut the door. I slipped under the covers of my bed and whimpered. I liked being in the dark of the covers. No one would see my face and I didn't have to look anyone.

Suddenly, I heard the lock to my house ring and a pair of feet pattered over to my room. The person got closer to my room. I heard the person slid my door open. I knew who it was and I didn't need to hear it from them.

"Can you please just leave me alone for a bit?" I kept my voice steady, so he didn't hear the pain through my mouth.

   "Uh. Okay." He sounded sympathetic.

I heard his turn around and close the door as he left the room. I sighed and wiped the small tears that were pooling around my eyes. I had to be strong. I wasn't going to cry over a stupid thing like relationships.

I heard my phone vibrate on my side table. Multiple times. I poked my head out from under the covers and I grabbed my phone. I went back under the blanket and unlocked my phone. My phone displayed a small icon at the top. I slid down the notifications bar and saw something I dreaded.

   Kakao from: Baekhyun

I opened it and saw his messages:

BAEKHYUN: Are you sure you're okay?

BAEKHYUN: I don't think you are...

   BAEKHYUN: Want to go somewhere?

I considered the thought. My feelings still wavering as I re-read the words over and over again. I began to construct a reply.

JIN KYUNG: I'm fine. Let's go somewhere.

I almost hit send when I deleted the entire bar.

The cursor flashed at me while I thought of something better to say.

   JIN KYUNG: Whatever...

I hit send. I suddenly realised how mean it sounded. Sighing, I watched the message. The small yellow one next to the message disappeared. He had read the message.

BAEKHYUN: What do you want to do?

   JIN KYUNG: Whatever...

BAEKHYUN: I think you want to hear about my date.

JIN KYUNG: I don't need to realize that I'm lonely.

BAEKHYUN: You don't need to. You have me.

   JIN KYUNG: I won't always.

BAEKHYUN: I need to set you up.

I sighed reading his last text. I didn't want to be set up. I didn't need anyone. I didn't want anyone.

BAEKHYUN: Let's go out for lunch later.

   JIN KYUNG: Dinner.

BAEKHYUN: Dinner it is. I'll text you the details.

   JIN KYUNG: Okay.

I turned off my phone and slammed my head into my pillow. Why did I agree to torture? I didn't need this.

I shook my head and turned on an alarm for 12 o'clock. I needed some rest before tonight and my head was throbbing with pain and confusion. I laid my head down on my pillow and fell asleep fairly easy.

Too bad I had to wake up to a nightmare.
