"You know someday Eric is going to kill you, and it might be today. He seemed really mad in Chemistry. You get on his nerve too much." Brittany says at lunch. "I mean we go to a boarding school, so you have no family to protect you."
"Yeah I know, but seriously he is annoying he deserves it." We eat our salads talking about the new dress code; we can't where tank tops anymore.
"Hey, I got to go. I have math next you?"
"I don't know. I have to look at my schedule." She nods and walks off. I look around the food court and more people are starting to crowd, so I leave in the other direction to my dorm.
While I was walking on the sidewalk I hear Eric's voice behind me.
"Evans! That you?" I stop, but don't turn around when I hear Eric call my name.
"Evans! I said you name." I turn around to see Eric and the new kid.
"My name is Maggie if you didn't know, and what's yours?" I answer Eric.
"I don't have time for that Evans. I know you failed my homework on purpose." He shoves my shoulder and I take a step back.
"You have no prof, but yeah I did, and what are you going to do about it." Eric narrows his eyes.
"What happened to you in the bathroom?" Eric asks.
"What bathroom?" I pretend to not know what he is talking about.
"The girls bathroom! You went in there and followed you." I pretend to be surprised and widen my eyes. The new guy besides him laughs.
"That's creepy." I give him a smile and turn back around, but he shoves me into the grass.
"Dude that is no way to treat a girl! Keep you hands off of her!" The new kid yells while helping me up. I turn to walk away again, and hear them whispering. Then I hear footsteps again behind me and I freak out.
"Hi! I am Carson. Who are you?" I let out I sigh of relief and walk with him. I look at him for a while. I remember him from my homeroom class. He was the kid that came in late.
"Maggie um thanks back there. He is not a gentlemen at all." I answer.
"Your welcome and actually he is a pretty nice guy if you get to know him." I roll my eyes.
"No! He is not, and bye nice meeting you." I walk towards the girl's dorm room.
"Wait! I will go with you!" I give him a confused look and point to the dorm room entrance.
"Girls dorm room." I say with a smile, but I get that he doesn't know around campus, he is the new kid of course.
"Oh sorry! I didn't..." I nod and turn around waving at him behind me. I walk in the dorm and get on the elevator, and push the level two button. Once I am in my dorm room I collapse on my bed, but forcing myself to get up and look at my schedule; child development.
~
I walk into the classroom and the first person I see is Carson. When he sees me he smiles. There's a empty seat beside him so I sit by him. The bell rings.
"Alright class today we will be actually learning today." Mrs. Martin says after the bell stops. I look at Carson and he is looking at his phone in his lap. I look at my phone when is buzzes. One message from Brittany-
What class do you have?
I reply that I have child development. The other message was from an unknown number.
You're in my homeroom class aren't you? -Carson
I look at him, and he winks at me. I look back at my phone and reply.
How did you get my number? -Maggie
I have my resources. ;) -Carson
I giggle to myself.
Ok... - Maggie
;) So you're in my homeroom correct? - Carson
Correct -Maggie
Cool! You look nice today - Carson
I try to hide my face, so he doesn't see that I am blushing. Is he flirting with me?
"Mrs. Evans and Mr. Night! What are you doing?" I freeze, and open my mouth to say something, but Carson says something first.
"We are texting each other. You see when we get bored of you talking thats when we text because-"
"Carson!" I yell at him, but in a whisper. "What Carson is trying to say is that we are sorry and it will not happen again." I tell the teacher.
"Actually I was saying-" I cut him off by kicking him in the leg.
"Well since you to feel the need to text each other why don't you read your text aloud." I freeze again. I was about to say something because I did not want the rest of the class knowing what he said to me, but Carson says something first.
"Of course what ever you want." Carson says while standing up and walking to the front of the classroom. He grabs my hand and drags me out of my seat.
"Go ahead." Mrs. Martin says. Carson pulls out his phone and so do I. He nods to me and whispers.
"Play along." I give him a questioned look.
"Well first I said." Oh great here it goes. "I hid the body." He says in a creepy voice and the class laughs. Carson nods to me and again mouths the words 'play along'. I wait till the class settles down and them play along.
"So I replied curiously; how deep?" Again another round of laughter and even Carson laughs. I smile not nervous anymore. This is how our fake conversation went...
5 feet deep, and by the statue of Mr. Colton
And you made sure no one saw you
Only one person saw me, but I took care of him.
Was it that one kid that wasn't in my first period?
That's the one
Did you bury him too?
"Ok that is enough!" Mrs. Martin yelled. The kids burst into laughter. I laugh myself. "You two." She starts to say, but the bell cuts her off. Carson takes my hand and we run out of the classroom laughing.
