Leaving Kayden's house, I start driving. I don't have a place in mind, I just want to get out of the town. I drive for about 3 hours until I am too tired to continue driving. I see an exit sign that says that there's lodging at the next exit, so a mile later, I am pulling of the highway, and turning left towards the first hotel I see. I pull up in front of the hotel and get out of my car, locking it as I walk through the front doors to see if they have any vacancies for the night.

"Hello. How can I help you?" The guy at the front desk asks.

"Hi. Do you have a room available for tonight?"

"Yes. Just for tonight?" He inquires, even though I just said that.

"Yep. Just passing through, and need a room until tomorrow."

"Ok, one room for one night. That will be sixty-five dollars."

I hand the guy my credit card and after I sign the receipt, he hands me my copy along with the room key.

"Your room number is 114. It is down this hallway," he points to his right to show which hallway he means. "Have a good stay."

"Thank you."

I go back out to my car to move it to a parking spot and then I grab my overnight bag and my laptop bag. I head back inside the main doors and go down the hallway that the guy at the desk said my room was down. At the beginning of the hallway, I see that there is a pool, and I am glad that I packed my swimsuit in my overnight bag, as I anticipated stopping a couple times at hotels and I hoped that there would be a pool.

I continue walking down the hall, and I find my room not too far down. Opening the door, I step inside. I walk over to the queen-sized bed in the center of the room and drop my bags down. I open up my bag and dig through it until I find my swimsuit. I strip out of my clothes and put my swimsuit on with a pair of shorts and tank top on top, I then grab my toiletry bag and head into the bathroom. Pulling my hairbrush out of the bag, I drag it through my hair, pulling it up into a ponytail. Going back out to the bed, I grab my phone, and turn it on.

Once it is on, my phone buzzes with notifications. I have tons of missed calls and texts. Majority of them from Meg and Kat, and a few of the texts are from Kayden. Opening the texts from Kat, I see that she texted me about the party and asking me where I was. The texts then turn into ones that say the Meg told her that I had left, and she used all caps to question me as to why. Not sending a text to her, I open the ones from Kayden next and his are asking me what he did to make me leave, if there was something that he did wrong, and if he hadn't gone to the party would I have stayed. His last text is asking me to tell him if I was alright and safe. I decide to send him a quick text.

Me: I'm safe Kayden. I just had to get out of that town. I'll text you when I'm in Cali.

Kayden: Thank god you're ok. You had me worried. I'll see you when I get to Cali? I won't be there until August.

Me: Maybe. I'll text you later.

I close that text and open the ones from Meg. She yelled at me via the text messages as to why I left without giving her notice. I also send her a text that says that I'm safe. Without waiting for a response, I throw my phone into the middle of the bed. I grab the room key and a towel and head out of the room, walking towards the pool. When I get there, I see that I am the only one there. I set my key down on the table and strip my shorts and shirt off and place them on top of the key. I slip off my sandals and then get in the pool and start doing laps. I swim laps for about twenty minutes before I stop to take a break. I swim over to the edge of the pool and pull myself up to sit on the edge with my feet dangling in the water.
