The rain pelted hard on Henry's face and the wind fiercely whipped his hair back. His clothes stuck to his skin. He was cold and soaking wet, yet he had to get the gift for his sister. He couldn't let her down. Farther down the street, he saw the store's window was lit up. "Thank god." He thought to himself as he tredged on through the worsening storm.

When he finally reached the store he struggled to grab on to the slippery handle. He walked into the building leaving wet footprints behind him. He went into the bathroom and grabbed a bunch of the cheap paper towels to at least dry his dripping wet hands. After he was somewhat dry he decided to quickly browse the store for a gift for his sister.

Upon a shelf he saw a small stuffed monkey holding a heart. A small tear dripped down Henry's cheak because monkeys were his sister's favorite animal. When she was little, they would climb trees together pretending they were monkeys even though he was allergic to their oak trees. He would come inside, nose all stuffy, throat all sore and his mom would have him go take a long shower to get rid of all the pollen. He didn't care though because he loved playing with his sister and seeing her huge smile.

He shook his head trying to get rid of the memory. His sister's life would never be the same now. She had fallen from one of the trees and was knocked unconscious. His parents quickly rushed her to the hospital to find out that she had split part of her spine. She still hasn't woken up, and even if she did, she could never walk again.

No, he wouldn't buy the monkey for her. It was just a painful reminder. Instead he found a small box of her favorite coconut chocolates. He was just about to purchase them when, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a small gray rainjacket. It was still raining outside and he didn't want to be soaking wet when he arrived at the hospital so he went to look at the raincoat. Its surface was made of a smooth rubber with a nice soft cotton on the inside. He also saw that his name, Henry, was embroidered on front of the inner pocket. "How strange," he wondered as he traced over the letters with his finger. He picked up the coat and tried it on. A perfect fit.

"Is this all you will be buying today?" The clerk asked as he put the chocolate and the raincoat Into a plastic bag.

"Yes sir."
