Henry sat waiting in a big plush chair in the waiting room. He hadn't even bothered to take off his coat. He let the water dripping from his hair dry on his face. He didn't care anymore. He leaned his head back and closed his eyes. He listened carefully. Trying to melt into his surroundings. Then he heard it. The voices. He was in control now so they didn't know he was listening.
"Look what happened! I told you we shouldn't have done it." a voice spoke that was so soft and smooth yet so powerful.
"Hey! I'm not ashamed of what happened. It was my curse and he got what he deserved." A voice pounded in his head like thunder
"But still. What if the others find out. We will be in so much trouble." The voice was a little shaky. The words forming like waves- slowly rising and falling.
"Do I look like I care!" The words striking hard like lightning "they will never..."
"What is going on......" The words drifted off.
Henry opened his eyes to find his parents walking towards him. He ran to them and hugged them tightly. He just wanted to stay that way forever. In their warm embrace.
"Come on Henry. Let's go home." His father said and put a hand on his back leading him out the door. It was a long drive home, and the storm was finally letting up.
Once they arrived at his small apartment, Henry threw the chocolate onto the table and stormed into his room. He went over to his clock, grabbed a screwdriver, and began taking it apart. He would do this often anytime he felt overwhelmingly emotional. It calmed him. He had all of the clock parts memorized. He knew where all of the gears were placed and where the springs and wires were attached. He continued taking out all of the parts. When he had just the empty skeleton of the clock, he set it on the table. He grabbed the clock's parts and set them next to his clock. He closed his eyes and concentrated hard. He slowly opened his eyes and stuck out his hand with the palm facing down. In his mind he pictured how the clock looked. Slowly the parts began to lift into the air and place themselves into the clock. Henry smiled with delight. Once all of the parts were back into the clock be screwed the back on. He heard the faint tick-tick-tick and knew that it had worked. His powers were slowly coming back to him.
"They will regret what they did." He thought to himself. Making sure the voices could hear. He looked down and realized that he was still wearing the raincoat. He unbuttoned it and tried to take it off but it wouldn't work. It was stuck to him like his skin to his bones. His eyes grew wide. He clawed at it. He tore at it. He grabbed a knife and tried to cut it but nothing happened. The coat wasn't even scratched. He grabbed a lighter and tried to light the jacket but before the flame even touched the coat, it blew out. He tried again and again. But nothing worked.
"This is worse than I thought."
