"Eleanor."

"Ellie, pay attention please," Mrs. Johnson stated firmly.

I turned my head back to the board and sighed a dreadful noise.

My only focus at that point was getting far far away from anything school related.

I sunk in my seat a bit and did my best to excel in my performance as an anatomy student.

85 years later, the bell finally let me out of my misery, and I trudged down the halls to my locker, to where I met my friend Laney.

"Bruh if I have to sit through one more damn lecture your gonna see a Lane sized hole in that door," she pointed and complaint. I laughed and rolled my eyes.

"What are you doing this weekend El?" she asked, plastered to my side as we started towards lunch.

"Hmm let me see. Well Friday I'm heading out to LA, where I, sadly, am attending two separate meetings. Saturday I'm booked with shoots and Sunday is going to be spent at tour management," I smirked.

"Ughhhh for the love of god am I ever gonna get to hang with you, like at all?! Shoot here music there traveling here meetings there- its just this never ending cycle, too much in my opinion for a 17 year old, jus sayin," she rambled.

"L chill out, next week I'm an open book, trust me, ill make time," I reassured, setting down my bag and taking a seat at the table.

"Eleanor Marie , how are you on this, fine afternoon?" Jordan asked, nudging into my shoulder and sitting across.

Laney and Jordan where my only two friends from school. The rest either lived in different states, befriended me over social media, or only saw me on our tour group.

"Hanging in there Jor, hanging in there," I told him, eyeing the nearby table of Jocks and Jerks.

It was our nickname for the preppy, sport good people. Nobody liked them, nobody had a chance to get in there group, nobody wanted to for that matter. They were the bully's of the school, the ones everyone despised and worked around. It sickened me, really.

I continued to scan the familiar area, nothing interesting me at all.

But only, until I came across an all too familiar face.

A face I never thought I'd see in my life.

The boy who grew up right next store to me. The boy who I spent countless hours with at the park, or more so, my backyard. The one who I looked up to so much a while back, right before he took off.

Blake Gray.

Blake was my best friend.

2 years ago, his parents got a divorce, and he had no choice but to move to Houston with his mom. From there his social media career took off, much like mine did. But one thing led to another, we ended up loosing contact with each other and haven't spoke sense.

I got up and winded behind him.

He looked lost and confused, overlooking the crowded cafeteria, displaying a somewhat worried expression while holding his tray of food.

"Blake," I finally blurted.

He turned his head, immediately becoming shocked when he saw me.

He grinned and looked around before making his way closer.

"I cannot believe this," he said. "Ellie girl, its you."

I laughed and looked down at the floor. The nickname still stuck after all this while.

"Long time no see Gray," I said, leading him more towards my table. "You look a little misplaced, you can sit with me if you'd like."

"Yeah, yeah just a little. That would be really great, thanks," He said following.

He took a seat and set down his belongings.

I wanted to talk him. Clear up everything that has been happening, catch up with his crazy life. Never actually realized how much I missed him.

"Where do I even start?" he asked with a little laugh.

"Alright, well, you could tell me why you came back?" I sort of questioned.

Anyone could of noticed his instant mood shift. He bit his lip and played with his hands, becoming nervous and some what saddened.

"Actually, how have you been doing?" I quickly threw in, not wanting to dull this.

"This life is something," he said, taking a breath.

"I can agree with you there," I told him.

"El, I actually have a contentment with the guidance counselor, I think this is?" he asked, showing me a piece of paper, I'm guessing that we're all his classes.

I nodded my head.

"Take a right down this hall and it'll be the fourth door on your left," I smiled.

"Thank you, Ellie. It was really great seeing you again. Catch up with ya later?"

"Of course," I said, watching as he disappeared behind the doors.

"Who was that?" Lane asked, taking a drink of her juice.

"Oh, nobody, just, someone I used to know far back. My bet says I never see that kid again," I told her, biting into my food.

As much as I didn't want to say, I knew it was the truth.

Harsh reality of something I actually wanted for once.

Which was, my best friend back.
