Chapter 9

Hey guys,

I know it has been ages but guess what… my new year's resolution was to update frequently. Obviously that didn't work :(

So I was reading through my book and I've realised that there are a lot of errors. So just to clarify, Liam is Zayn's best friend since Year 7.

Also, they're in Year 12, not Year 11.

Also, I've kind of changed my mind. In the previous chapter Aaliyah said that she will get Zayn and Jamie together by 'accidentally' meeting each other at the shopping centre. I don't like that idea, so what's happening is that there is a school excursion in the City. I will explain better in this chapter, so far just pretend there is nothing about meeting each other at the shopping centre.

Anyways, I'll stop talking/writing so you can read.

3…2…1…ACTION!!!

I ran up the stairs of my house. Avan and Dad must be home now. It has been 3 years since Avan left home. He wanted to study in New York City. I told him not to go but he was persistent. I terribly missed him.

I opened the door of my house. As I peered in, I noticed that the whole house was dark and silent. Where was everyone?

I took out my phone to call my mum.

'Aaliyah?' Zayn walked into the house.

'Zayn?' I questioned.

'I didn't see any lights from the house, so I came to check what's happening.' he explained.

'I don't know whats going on.' I admitted

'Turn on the lights'

I walked to the area that I expected where the light switch was.

'Zayn, where are you?' I asked as my hands searched for the switch.

'I'm here.' he spoke as he came and stood next to me.

'I hate the dark!' I was starting to get frustrated because my hands couldn't find the light switch.

'Are you scared of the boogey monster?' Zayn chuckled. I rolled my eyes, realising that he couldn't see.

Suddenly I heard the door bang shut from the other room. I instantly wrapped my hands around Zayn's arms. His arms were muscular yet soft to touch.

Aaliyah, this is not the time to ponder how good Zayn's arm's feel.

'What was that?' Zayn questioned.

'I think there's someone in the house.' I whispered.

'Who's there?' Zayn called out.

Immediately, from the other side of the house, I heard the door shut loudly.

Zayn wrapped his arms around me, protectively.

'Someone's in here. We need to get out.' Zayn seriously explained.

I heard a growl coming from my parents bedroom.

'What if it isn't someone?' I whispered, as negative thoughts came across my mind.

'You go and check what it is.' Zayn nudged yet he still had his arms grasped tightly around me.

'No. Your the man here!' I gasped.

The growling became louder and it felt like something was approaching us. Zayn's grip on my shoulder became more tighter as I wrapped my hands around his waist.
