Aarav's POV
I don't know why I asked her to come to the penthouse. I could have easily accommodated her in one of my hotels. But still, I told James to get her to the penthouse. I decided not to think much so I went to finish my work.
It was almost 1 when I decided to check on Dia whether she was sleeping or not. I went inside her room and saw that she was not in bed. The balcony door was wide open and there she was sitting on the floor her hair was lightly flowing with the air. Her legs were crossed and all she was doing was gazing at the night sky and was saying something. I decided to go near her and listen to it. It was kind of scary to find someone in the middle of the night talking to no one.
"I really miss you" she kept on repeating it. I wonder who she this 'you' is. She was not her usual self. She was rather looking very sad and her eyes were also not very cheery as usual. She was not crying I knew that. I then finally decided to barge in.
"You know what it's not good to stay up so late and then talk to someone whom others can't see," I said and sat beside her.
"I can't see him either just imaging maybe he is somewhere here," she said with a smile.
"Is this how you are in the midnight, all scary and philosophical" I don't know why I was talking to her but I felt nice while talking to her.
"I think so" this was the first time when I noticed a sweet little dimple on her right cheek.
"Who were you thinking about," I said acting all innocent.
"My dad" she replied.
"Hmm, what happened," I asked.
"He was a martyr," she said with a pound smile.
"Army?" I asked
"Nope Airforce he was a squadron leader at..... the time of his death I might be only 10 I guess," she said. I just wanted to listen to her. Now I am thinking that how lucky I am. "My mom used to say that my loved me a lot and was very close to me but I don't remember anything" and then a tear escaped her beautiful eyes I could take it so I quickly hugged her.
"It's okay there is nothing to cry about Dia I know you are proud of him and he is proud of you" I then started rubbing her back. She was always all strong and answering me back but now she was all vulnerable and fragile.
"I am sorry I ruined your shirt," she said while wiping her tears.
"It's okay, beautiful, but now you need to sleep" I then looked outside and saw that it was now raining heavily. "And I don't think this rain will stop anytime soon," I said with a smile. I then tucked her in her bed and taking a last glance of her I went to sleep.
Next morning I woke up to the ringing sound of my phone it was Mom.
"Hello Good Mor-" she cut me off.
"Aarav Rai you so are dead meat right now," she said angrily.
"What happened mom," I asked in a confused tone.
"Are you listening to this Arjun 'What happened'" she mimicked me. "Last time when you got that girl what was her name uh uh uh forget it whatever her name was I told you that you will not be having any girl around for your misdeed, didn't I or didn't I not" she was really angry.
"Yeah but-" she again cut me off.
"That's it, did you listen to that Arjun he remembers it well but just not listening to me" she was damn furious.
