Nathan's POV

It was a Sunday morning and the street sweepers were already clearing out the leaves that fell off last night. There are no business appointments for me today so I decided to check up on Kristina. I just thought maybe she got sick or whatever.

I groomed myself and left my place. Driving down the streets, I stopped by this flower shop on the side. I bought three bouquets of flowers. One kind for each of the girls. There was a café nearby so I walked over and took out a mocha latte. It didn't taste like that of J's Café but it was better than nothing to warm my stomach.

Since it was a Sunday, there was only light traffic. It took me just a few more minutes to get to the Lopez's apartment. There was a note posted on the doorbell which says it was unavailable so I just knocked instead. Mary answered the door.

"Nathaaaaaan!" She jumped as she saw me.

I held the flowers on my back so I just knelt on one knee to meet her eyes.

"Good morning, princess." I could tell she loved what I said. Mary posed with her hands together on the side of her chin.

"Who is it, Mary?" Daphne asked from inside the house. She walked over to where we were. "Oh Nathan! Come in! What brings you here?"

"Good morning, Daphne. These are for you." I held her the white tulips.

"And these are for you." I knelt again to give Mary the yellow ones.

They both were glad and thanked me. I just smiled and said it was nothing. We sat on the sofa.

"I just came to check on you. You know, last night wasn't so good. Are you alright?" I know I was here just then but I just felt the urge to ask.

"What happened?" Mary asked.

"Oh, the weather was bad last night. You were asleep." Daphne told her. "You are too kind to us, Nathan. Thank you. We are doing just fine."

"That's good to hear. May I ask where Kristina is?" There are no signs of her.

"Oh, she left early this morning. She had to work."

"Is that so? Alas, I can't give her these roses." I bowed down to look at the flowers. I was excited to give them to her.

"Why don't we just put in a vase? You can leave a note if you want." Daphne suggested and winked at me. I smiled at her as if to say she had a good idea.

"Yes, I would love to. Will you lead me to her room, Mary?" I asked.

"Sure! Come on Super N! Follow me!"

We went upstairs to Kristina's room. I placed the flowers in the vase Daphne has given me and placed it on top of her dresser. Mary handed me a pen and a piece of paper. "Write her a sweet note. She loves that." The little girl said and winked at me. I shook my head in disbelief. How come she speaks like a grown-up?

I did as she said. I didn't know what to write, though. She might misunderstand if I asked her out so I wrote a compliment instead.

"What did you write to her?" Mary asked as soon as we got back to the living room. She looked so innocently curious.

"I can't tell you." I said foolishly. She knelt on the sofa and climbed onto me. "Oh come on Nathan!! Tell me! Why won't you tell me?" She looked so cute when protesting.

I looked at her wit sharp eyes. We were staring at each other and then I said no. She hit me out of annoyance. I was laughing the whole time.

"Look who's having fun!" Daphne walked in the room.
