Kristina's POV
I woke up a little later than usual. My classes start at nine so I still had an hour to prepare. I sat up and looked around my room. Sunshine hit my face. The windows need some cleaning, I thought. There was no clutter on the floor 'cause I hated that. Then I saw the dresser, with the flowers on top. Oh, god. Nathan is everywhere.
I rinse my hair since it's a good time to wash it. I did no take long in the shower, though. I am a bit time efficient. I wrapped my body with the bath towel and used a smaller one to dry my hair. I decided not to blow it dry so it could rest from the heat or whatever.
I wore a dark blue three-fourths, jeans, and sneakers. I am not fond of accessories like the other girls out there. I left my hair down then I was good to go.
Mom and Mary must have already gone to the kindergarten. They left me some waffles on the table and a note that says: there is orange juice on the fridge. Yeah. I drank a glass of it and ate all he waffles that's left. Nobody's eating it after me so I didn't mind saving it from being a leftover.
My bag's already ready. I had my research papers, notebooks, calculator, pens, and everything I might need in it. I zipped it up and sling it on one shoulder. Mom and I had duplicate keys of our apartment and original one was left planted on the pot just in case of emergency. After locking the house, I saw Hillary on the sidewalk.
"Good morning K!" She greeted me.
"Hillary, why so early girl?"
"Picking you up, I guess?" Hillary was given a car as a gift for her 18th birthday.
"Oh, I see. Sure thing!"
"So, how was your weekend?" She started asking once we were on our way.
"It was good." I tried not to lie about it and tried no to talk about it, too.
"Really huh? Why don't you tell me now, K?"
"Tell you what?"
"I dropped by your place yesterday. But your mom said you were out with your sister and this Nathan guy.
"Oh, that. You really want to know Hill? That was Mary's date with Nathan. I was their chaperone. Could you believe that?" I said that so it would sound ridiculous and Hillary would just drop the subject.
"I might have pulled your hair right now if I weren't your friend, K." She warned me. 'Be glad I understand your mood, sister."
"Thanks K, you are the best. Have I told you that?" I told her truthfully.
Hillary's phone rang in time to cut our conversation. I checked my phone while she was talking. After reading a few messages, I opened the web browser and checked my Twitter account. I am a Twitter girl, I must say.
I read a few retweeted quotes, news, and some updates. Next I did was check on my mentions. Okay, there were some from my colleagues, my cousins from the west coast, and some more friends. But this one surprised me. My face turned into a frown. I had one new follower and its name was weird.
My heart started following you.
"Kristina!"
"What?!"
"Girl, are you mad?" Hillary asked me. "I just wanted to tell we're already here."
I felt so bad. "Right. I'm sorry."
Nathan's POV
I went to work right in time. Once I got there, I stepped out of the car, leaned on it and looked around the tall buildings in front of me. I stood there for a few minutes until Rick came to meet me. "Good morning buddy." I greeted him. "Looking good, huh?" I said.
"Good morning." I greeted the valet as he took my keys and Rick and I walked into the building. I greeted the guard. And I greeted the receptionist. And I greeted the elevator personnel. And I greeted my officemates. And I greeted everyone I bumped into until we reach my office.
"Are you okay, Nathan?" Rick asked me with concern.
"Of course I am! Ha-ha!" I answered him joyfully and gave him a tap on the chest.
"Buddy, it's alright if you're going through something. Tell me. I'm your friend." Rick really seemed so concerned. He thinks I am not myself today which I think so, too. So I calmed down and talked to him.
"No, it's not what you think buddy. I just feel so good today. You don't have to worry. I'll go ahead, bro. See you around." I picked up my things from the table and left Rick.
I had three meetings today and all went well. This day is different. I felt so inspired without even knowing why. Time flew past me. I guess I was so busy but it didn't bother me. It was already seven in the evening so I packed my things and went home. I am suddenly mister All Smiles today, I thought.
I took off my suit and loosened my tie. There was a little bit of green salad left on my fridge so I grabbed it and had my dinner. I sat on the couch and watched TV while eating. I didn't feel tired. I can say it was at least an hour since I got home. I don't think I will fall asleep right away and I didn't want to waste time doing nothing. I could go for some coffee.
I walked over to my working table and opened my laptop. I still am not hearing from her. I searched Google for her profile and it showed me good results. I literally studied her. I took her essay out of my drawer and tried to figure out where she is coming from. Yesterday with Kristina was very special to me. Never have I felt my heart skip a beat in front of a lady. My heart started following her.
