she couldn't stop the tears from flowing down her cheeks, or the burning sensation in her chest. he had left her broken on the floor of their once shared bedroom. his stuff was all gone. she'd cried for hours now. her phone blared a tune, and she answered with pure desperation, wanting his voice to fill her ears. but it wasn't him. it was kayla, a beautiful tall, auburn haired girl with freckles across her cheeks and nose, her cheeks always rosy with a tan complextion. elisa cried into the phone, and begged for kayla to come over. their friendship wasn't the most normal, with all the drunken kisses and such, but their bond was strong. and kayla went over. elisa opened the door, her black hair messy and her regular pale cheeks and nose red. she'd wore only a pair of panties and a black shirt. kayla towered over her in a green tanktop and black shorts, taking elise in her arms and slipping off her shoes, walking them into elises bedroom, and they laid on the bed. after a while of holding elise until she only whimpered every so often, kayla started to crack small jokes that had them both giggle. it had gotten late, kayla standing to collect herself and leave. but elise didn't want her to go, she wanted her to stay and cuddle her, and make her smile.
"just stay the night, please." and elise knew how self centered that sounded but she didn't care. and so kayla stayed. she held elise from behind, pulling her back to her chest, and curling up their legs to fit like a puzzle piece. elise turned her head slowly, and they stared into each others eyes, small grins planted on their faces. elise leaned forward and their lips connected. it felt like heaven. they parted, smiling.
"that was something i would've never done while being with him, and right now i'm glad i'm not with him." kayla only giggled, and rested her head on elises shoulder. and they fell asleep.
