Chapter 12: Is this the end?

Meanwhile, Brittany takes a deep breath of fresh air in, since she was above the toxin clouds. The Dark One walked behind her.

"Damien has done a good job. . ." she said.

"The names The Dark One." he said.

"Your NAME is whatever I SAY it is, Understood?"

"...Yes...Brittany." The toxin levels were normal. They were slowly reaching over the yellow line.

"The whole city...under my control..."

"Don't you mean OUR control?" While they were arguing, she didn't know the gas was slowly rising.  

"That's the thing..." she pointed a gun at him, and he does the same to her, both of them cock their guns.

"A battle for power...how cliche." she grins.

"Just the way I like it...I am not afraid of you...

"Well...tell that to the Toxin..." Brittany was confused. She saw the gas covering the windows. His gun moves to the window and shoots, with the gas flooding in.

"Noo..." then she saw SB, bruises and blood on her with red eyes.They both look at her, as Brittany coughs, and collapses.

"Think...of your worst nightmare..." she said. From Brittany's POV, she saw The Dark One splits into multiples, and surrounded her.

"No...NO...NO!!" The Dark One looks to SB, was is actually helping her. Both of them laughed at her in her vision.

"All yours..." he said. SB nodded and picked her up. "Oh...and as for the toxin room? Never do whatever you did EVER. AGAIN...I won't be able to resist next time." She turned to him

"Certainly...Dark One." Then she turned to Brittany. She was cowering in fear, looking all around her. "Now...your worst fear...is your own assassin turning against you." She drops her on the floor.

"Until we meet again... Blakina."

"Same to you...Dark One." He jumps out of the hangar, and all of the Collosus units teleport away, stopping the gas, and it started to clear. Everyone recovers in the city recovers, including the team. Neko and SL woke and took their masks off. They look around, noticing SB's gloves and boots.

"Oh no..." said Sara. The airship landed in the park, they got out and went into the city and they saw SB, taking a cuffed Brittany to a police van and closes the door.

"Take her away." she said and the van drove away. She got the core from her. SL and Neko came up to her.

"You ok SB?" said Neko.

"Yeah..." she said. "Now for BCM."

They went back to base, Neko turned on Nova and filled him in. SB installed his core back in him. He stood up.

"What happened?" he said. SB hugged him.

"Toxin gas." she said.

"What about the Invaders?"

"They're all gone. We'll have to take extra precautions."

"Affirmative."
