It was a bright Monday. Eva was walking by her foot to Beaufort High School. On her way, two girls approached her. "Hi Eva." "Hi." answered Eva with a sweet smile. She then continued her walk before another group of girls approached her. "Good morning Eva!" said them in unison. Eva looked at them and gave away a smile. "Morning girls."

She made her way to her class and sat on her seat. Her best friend, Claire sat beside her and they talked about many things-unimportant things for sure. This is Eva's school routine. Being the top student, athlete, having good personalities and friendly with everyone made her the school's favourite.

The bell rang and the homeroom teacher got into the class. They started their lesson after the teacher checked the class's attendance. The class went like usual before an announcement made from the office. "Attention to Eva William. Please made your way to the office." The announcement made every eyes in the class staring at her soul.

Slowly, she stood up and asked for the permission from the teacher to go to the office. The moment she stepped into the office, Mrs. Kendal, the principal hugged her like there is no tomorrow. Being dumbfounded, she just mannequinn herself. Mrs. Kendal pulled off from the hug before saying, "Both of your parents entangled in a big accident. They are now in the ICU ward."

Eva was trembling before she fell to the ground. She just couldn't trust her ears. Her eyes became red before tears slowly flowed over her cheeks. Her parents were her only family since she got no siblings. Mrs. Jenny kindly support Eva to her car. She drove the car to the hospital Eva's parents were in.

Looking at her parents' bad condition made her tears flowed even faster. She sat on the floor, waiting for any good news from the doctor but after waiting for so long, she can't prevent herself from fell asleep. The clock struck 4 a.m. when the doctor woken her up from her sleep. Eva woke up just to see the doctor's sad face.

"Your parents are gone." It was too early in the morning so that Eva thought that she might misheard what the doctor had said. "Pardon?" "Your parents are gone." repeated the doctor. Eva laughed. "Doctor, you're really bad at joking you know?" "I'm not joking miss. I'm so sorry for you." The doctor left her at the corridor. She slumped herself on the floor before went crying.

She went home by foot like a mad woman due to her wrinkled school uniform, swollen eyes and messy hair. She prepared herself for school and went to school like usual-like nothing big happened to her at all.
