My only destiny

She planted a fake smile on her face before walk herself to school. The same routine as her other school days-she chat with her friends and study like usual. When the school bell rang indicated that the school was ended, her homeroom teacher asked to wait for a second. "Please follow me." ordered the teacher while pointing to the teachers' room.

When she stepped into the room, Mrs May patted the chair in front of her-gesturing Eva to sit there. Eva followed the order without much hesitation. Mrs May turned to her table and took out an envelope. "You are so lucky, you know? Studying at an international school and being the school's favourite help you with your life. "

Eva who was dumbfounded raised her left eyebrows. "In this envelope, I've put in a cheque. All of the students donated their money for your sake." Eva was speechless. She just can't find a word to say."Please, take it. I think, it'll be enough for your study and your house bills. After that, you can ask for scholarship to further your study. You're one of the top students anyway."

Mrs May said as she put the envelope on Eva's hands. "But-" "No but,please. We really do care for you." Eva was cutted off before she could even finish her sentence. "If you keep insist, i guess it'll really help me continue my life?" said Eva.

It have been two months since she lived by herself. Eve opened the refrigerator just to see its emptiness. She let out a light sigh before she made her way to the grocery. The clock showed 8.30 p.m. when she done bought some food. For her empty hungry stomach sake, she used the dark short alley instead of the long alley with lights and crowd.

She was walking on the deserted alley when a pair of big hands caught her hands before pinned her to the wall. The unknown man closer the distance between their face. Eva could tell that the man was drunk due to the alcohol scent. "You're fucking gorgeous, little missy. Will you be my girlfriend?" said the man. He eyed Eva from head to toe. The man brought back the black kindergarten memory she had when an unknown man tried to harass her. She was lucky back then since her neighbor was there to save her.

Eva fell to the ground as she cried in silent. The man tried to steal a kiss from Eva but he was stopped by a punch on his cheek. A pair of hands touched her shoulders. "Eva?" the owner of the hands said. "Don't touch me, you drunk old man!" shrieked Eva with her eyes still closed. "Hey, it's Brian. I'm your classmate, you see? It's okay, you're safe now." said Brian with a worried face. Instantly, Eva hugged Brian.

"Thank goodness you're here. I was scared" Eva is still shaking when she's in Brian's arms. "It's late. You live alone, don't you? Let me walk you home." said Brian. All the way home, Eva just shut her mouth so did Brian. Brian led their way to her home. Before leaving, they bid farewell and said goodbye to each other. Eva continued her daily routine- cooking, bathing, eating dinner and watching television.

Bored she was, she rolled on her bed and made it a total mess. 'Brian was being nice. But, i just shut my mouth all the way home. So, how on earth does he know where am i living?' she thought. After minutes struggling for an answer but couldn't find any, she got fed up and fell asleep.
