Confession and rejection

           

Ever since that incident, Eva and Brian became good friends. They went to school together, lunch together and walk home together. Eva told Brian that she was okay and she afraid that she might be a burden for Brian but Brian said that he'll always stay with her so that no unwanted incidents will happen in the future.

Brian was like a hero to Eva since he always helped her whenever she in need- even in buying groceries. However, Brian's presence sometimes made Eva felt butterflies in her stomach. On one fine day, Eva and Brian were chatting normally when a girl called Brian out from the class. Eva who was curious hid behind the wall and eavesdrop their conversation. "I like you." said the girl with red blushing ears.

"I have a girlfriend." answered Brian while rubbing the back of his nape. The girl widened her eyes in shock. "Why didn't I know?" said the girl-disbelief in what she heard. "Well, I don't see the need for me to tell the whole world I've got a girlfriend. Anyway, I'll just get going." Said Brian before walked away, leaving the girl.

"Ouch!" shrieked Eva when her head knocked at with Brian's knuckle. "Enjoy eavesdropping others' conversation?" asked Brian mischievously. "I-I   just happen to walk here when she confess to you, you know. I got more business other than eavesdropping your boring conversation, okay?" said Eva trying to protect herself.

"Whatever." Brian tucking out his tongue- acting like a spoil brat. Eva at the other hand felt like her heart had been stabbed by knife somehow. All the way back home, Eva just shut her mouth and that made Brian curious since Eva is a talkative girl-in a good way of course. "Do you have something in your mind?" Brian started a conversation between them.

Eva stared blankly at the young man before asking him innocently. "Who's your girlfriend?" She tilt her head-make her cuteness increase. "Someone you know. Anyway, how's your activity club?" Eva laughed. "What a way to change the topic". "Hey, I forgot something." Said Brian while searching for something in his bag.

"Here." He put a beautiful handmade wreath on Eva's head. "How beautiful! Did you made this yourself?" ask Eva but Brian just smiled looking at her. "Anyway, thank you for this beautiful wreath. But." she stopped her sentence hanging. "But what?" ask Brian- curious. "Are you really giving me this?" ask Eva cautiously.

Brian made a weird face. "I am. Why?" "Well, shouldn't you be giving this to your girlfriend instead?" ask Eva. "Ohh, never mind. I'm giving this to you." said Brian putting his hands in his pocket. They continue their walk. "Thank you for walking me home." said Eva as she hugged Brian before entering her lawn.

On his way home, his mind keep repeating the scene Eva hugged him and that made him blushed real hard. "God, what an adorable crush I have." said him to himself while covering his blushing cheeks.
