Autumn wears her golden robes

Autumn wears her golden robes

Flecked with red and purple strobes.

She dances in the sun light bold,

And wraps herself against the cold.

She struts along the streets by day,

And smiles at the children's play.

Her blaze of glory passes soon,

Paths with lifeless leaves are strewn.

Her memory gives a warmth of color

To enrich the pensive lonely scholar.
