Chapter one: Welcome To Grab-A-Tree Falls

"Starshine" I hear someone shout in an alarmed tone. "Starshine, where are you?" I sturr in my sleep to the sound of my nickname

"Mmm" i mumble

"Huh?... starshine?" The familiar voice asks as i hear stuff around me being moved "here you are, what are you doing under there?" I hear the voice ask me. I open my eyes to see my mum with an expression of fear and relief.

"Hey mumma" i say in a sleepy voice.

"You scared me, what are you doing under the bed?" She asks me while she crawls under the bed next to me.

"I wanted to look at the stars" i say looking up at the bottom of my bed to see all the glow in the dark, star shaped stickers mum had brought for me.

Somehow they still glowed as bright as the day that mum had given them to me. It amazed me that something so small, that has been kept in such a dark place for so long, could still shine so bright like no darkness could ever touch it.

"I know you love the stars but you should tell me next time, i thought you had gone on another one of your adventures" mum says referring to the fact i run into the woods next to our house almost every chance i get. I loved the thought of adventure and finding stuff that hasn't been touched by human kind, it amazed me how beautiful nature was.

"Sorry mumma, i will next time" i say holding out my pinkie ready to make a promise.

If only i had known that was going to be one of the last good memories i would ever have regarding my family and past.

~Time Skip~
~Reality~

"Last stop, Gravity falls" the bus driver shouts from the front of the bus snapping me out of my thoughts.

Why did he need to yell? I was the only person left on the bus after all

"Miss, this is the final stop" he repeats. I nod my head as I pick up my backpack from the floor and start to make my way off the bus before the bus driver speeds off

I decide to plug in my earphones blasting the first song that came on which happens to be believer by imagine dragons (or F/S) and pull up my grey (or f/c) hoodie as i begin to walk into town, what was it called again?... Grab-a-tree falls or something? Oh well it's not that important I'll only be here a few months at max don't want them catching up with me.

I begin to walk along the road surrounded by trees but not long after, i get the feeling as if something was watching me but i brush it off thinking I am just being paranoid. The feeling continues though, so this time i take one of my earphones out as I look around me, but i see nothing but trees, trees and oh wait... more trees. I guess being on the run this long is finally getting to me. I think as i put my earphone back in and continue to walk.

Within 15-20 minutes of me walking slowly im finally umungst civilization. I dont really know if you can call this, civilization though, this was more of a ghost town. Oh well i just need to find an inn or a place to stay, then i can worry about blending in enough so I'm not suspicious for long.

Lucky enough i don't have to worry about money, i can thank my grandma for that. Leaving me a secret stash of money that no one else in my family knew about.
