Anna's POV

Please Go Away

Please God Make Him Go Away

My fingers are in fists in my hair as I sit on my bed and plead to an unknown force. The pounding on my door keeps getting louder and louder.

"ANNA! Open this door!" My father slurs in a very drunken state.

Please

Please I'm Begging You

And all of a sudden, it goes quiet. An eerie silence fills every inch of the house. Cautiously, I tiptoe over to the door, and crack it open slightly to see my mess of a father passed out on the floor. I feel like falling over in relief.

Since I can't get out of my room using my door without waking the beast, I stuff clothes and necessities into a bag. I silently crawl through the window and out into the pouring rain. I start trudging over to my boyfriends,  James, house and away from my living hell.

Right when I start to feel safe. I see my dad's truck drive by and dive behind a bush before he could see me. Probably going out to get more whiskey. The pouring rain beats down on the bruises on my back which makes my whole body ache.

I finally get to his front door and knock softly. The door opens and the devil incarnate

James POV

I hear a few gentle knocks at my door. "James! Go see who's there!"

I get up off of the couch and jog over to the front door, when I open it, a unfamiliar looking man greets me with a warm smile.

"Are you James?" he asks kindly.

"Um, yes I am,"

"Well it's nice to meet you. My name is Mr. Smith. I'm Anna's father,"

I shake his hand, confused.

"Nice to meet you too, sir. Is everything okay?" To think of it, I haven't heard from Anna all day.

"Unfortuntely not, son. I haven't seen or heard from Anna since last night, and i'm assuming that she's here," My heart drops to my stomach. This can't  be happening. This cannot be happening.

"She's not here. I'll try calling her, you can make yourself at home," Right on cue my mother walks in with a worried look on her face.

"Is everything okay?"

"Anna's missing, this is her father. I'm going to try to call her," I quickly dash up the stairs to get my phone and instantly call her. Goes straight to voicemail. I call again and again until I hear my doorbell ring and run down the stairs, praying that it's her. I see Mr.Smith standing in front of the open door, blocking me from seeing who's standing there. He's talking in  hushed tone.

"Is it her?"

His head quickly turns around and says "Just some teenagers pulling a prank,"
But then he goes back to talking.

I push my way to see who's there and I see Anna standing there in the pouring rain with a busted lip. and a broken look in her eyes.
