A few weeks go by and today is the last day of training. As the weeks have gone by I have made new friends and new enemies. I wouldn't really talk to those said enemies, but since we're all in the same living quarters I have no choice. It really annoys me...

Anyways, I got up and went to go get some breakfast in the mess hall. I get out and my new friend Andrew is standing by the entrance. "Well look who finally woke up!" He exclaimed as he smiled. Andrew was a cool dude, and he was extremely funny... Sometimes in a crude way, but whatever I'm not exactly the most appropriate person ever.

The funniest thing he's said, in my opinion, was there was this weird thirsty girl who came up to him and asked if he wanted to have sex with her. You could tell she smuggled some alcohol because she was obviously drunk, and she was carrying a flask around. His response was perfect though. Instead of saying "yes" he quoted a thing Jesse D'Amato said from the show In Treatment.

So here's how it played out... She asked, "Hey... An...Drew. You uh... Wanna have... Seh-sex?" He smirked and replied in a really sassy voice, "You can't suck dick for shit." And then he started to walk off. At this point I began to realize that this man... Was a freaking genius.

Back to the present! I smirked at Andrew, "Oh please usually you wake up later than me... Now come on. I want food." He rolled his eyes, "Yeah whatever... It's not even real food!" I was walking away at this point and I looked back, "You get used to it after a while... Well... Sort of."

He jogged over to me and we got in line. I said my usual thank you to the lunch ladies (and man), and sat down with the rest of my friends. We talked about how we're leaving this metaphorical prison and going to the real deal. In all honesty... I'm terrified. I don't want to kill people. I don't want to see actual blood and actual dead bodies. I just don't... But I have to.

We keep talking and the general comes and he yells, "Hey! Everyone! Shut up and look here!" We shut up and looked over there... There's really not much to it. He began speaking, "So as you all know today is your last day... And I'm sure you're all thinking 'Yes! We finally get to leave this Hell hole!' Well let's get something straight here... And just to burst all of your bubbles, because I just love doing that, the battlefield is a thousand times worse than here. So have fun seeing death and blood everywhere. After this you all need to pack up. The trucks leave at twelve hundred, okay?"

We all yelled in unison, "Sir yes sir!" and finished eating. We got packed up and waited till noon. Julianna and I were talking about some random stuff and Carson came over. "Hey guys," he waved and Julianna nodded a "sup" and I said back to him, "Hi." "So, how are you guys feeling about later?" He asked and Julianna responded, "How do you think?" He smiled slightly, "Yeah well... I was just curious." I sighed, "I don't want to go... I'm sure no one does, but what can we do about it?"

Carson shook his head, "So depressing Ash, wow. It'll be okay... I promise." He smiled and I smiled slightly too. His smile's infectious... I don't understand how he does it. "I hope you're right..." I quit smiling and then he put his hand on my shoulder, "Ash, look at me..." I looked up at him and his bright blue eyes stared into my grey ones. He smiled again and I felt my cheeks burning. "You're going to be fine. I'll make damn sure of it too."

"Heya love birds," my friend Ashlynn laughed and I looked up at her. "What? No! Nuh-no! We're just friends... Just friends," I snapped around back at Carson, "Right...?" He nodded, but he hesitated, "Yeah, totally." Oh my God. Maybe he does like me. I just friend-zoned him... Oh my God. I just can't have a relationship... I need to stop thinking, but I can't.

I laughed nervously, "Well um... Thank you for your promise Carson. That's really sweet of you." I smiled slightly, but instead of blushing my cheeks were red of embarrassment. I am so awkward, geez. He nodded, "Yeah... You're welcome. Hey I better go... My friends are probably wondering what I'm doing... Bye." I waved at him, "Yeah... Bye."

Julianna looked at me, "That was awkwo." Ashlynn nodded, but smiled, "Yeah, but it was kinda cute." I sighed, "I just totally friend-zoned him... Oh my God you guys were right... Ugh! Please someone when we get to the station grab a gun and shoot me." Ashlynn glared at me, "Ash, stop. You're over thinking it! Just relax!" Julianna nodded, "Yeah just calm down. It'll all be okay."

We kept talking and I got the Carson situation off my mind. The general came in later to tell us to load up. Well this is it. The thing we've been preparing for all these weeks is here.
