Aiko's pov
~about 30 minutes later~
I leaned against the doorway awkwardly as Ayame tried to wrap his head around what I'd said.
"T-two? Wha... but how?!" He looked so lost and adorable I couldn't help but giggle. As he continued to stare, my giggling turned into laughter. His confused stare turned to an irritated glare.
"Oh of course!!! My worlds just been shattered to bits and you're just laughing like it's some kind of joke" He started to (fabulously I might add XD) pout like a little kid
"I-I'm sorry. It's just, you're acting like I did when I found out" I choked out, still laughing. Ayame blinked, and chuckled a bit.
"I suppose that is a little funny." He muttered, still annoyed. "So how did you find out about the Sohma curse?" He asked, curious. I shrugged.
"That memory is a little fuzzy. I'm pretty sure I was playing tag or something when I bumped into..." I stopped for a moment, thinking. "Ah yes, I ran into Akito, and she turned into a dove." Ayame's eyes widened and he gaped at me in shock.
"You..... ran into.......... Akito?" He said faintly. I nodded and awkwardly grabbed the back of my head.
"Yeah... I freaked out because Akito turned into an animal no one had ever turned into, and Akito was flying everywhere, very upset and confused, Hatori was confused and trying to catch her, it was quite the mess," I laughed, but started to frown. "Then there was a poof from back where the other kids were... One of the girls had tripped... and fallen on Yuki" Ayame winced, clearly he knew what had happened after that incident.
"Hatori erased all of the kids memories, and attempted to erase mine. Needless to say, it didn't work." Ayame blinked.
"Why would he attempt to erase your memory if you turned Akito into a dove? Surely they would have had some questions.." He asked, and I nodded in agreement.
"They definitely had some questions, but Hatori noticed that while I had freaked out, I apologized multiple times. He assumed that I would still be able to answer their questions even if my memory was erased." Ayame chuckled.
"That's Hatori alright."
"Anyway, when Hatori discovered he couldn't erase my memory Akito got very upset, and tried to hit me. Lucky for her Hatori kept that from happening..." I said, laughing slightly and sweating.
"The entire family would have been killed by my mom if I came home injured." Ayame shivered, he had heard some of the stories from when she was a Yankee, which surprised me when I first met him, as I hadn't known she was famous.
"But Akito did eventually calm down enough for us to explain our curses. Afterwards I started to visit the Sohma estate more often, hanging out with several of the cursed, including Yuki. But....." I hesitated, clutching my left arm. Ayame came over and gave me a gentle hug.
"But what, dear?" I took a shaky breath.
"But then the crash happened. It- it killed my older siblings and my dad, and caused me to lose my memories. I got most of them back with mom's help, but I didn't remember anything about the Sohma's until recently, when I met Hiro." Ayame sighed and rubbed my shoulder
"It's alright dear. Have you been to see Akito recently?" I began to laugh.
"Oh yeah, she's been quite fun to talk to. The first time I visited she even apologised!" Ayame gasped.
"You were thed person she apologised to? I couldn't believe it when he told me!"
"I know, right! I was shocked! The great Akito, apologising." I said, my laughter slowing down.
"I didn't think I'd ever see the day. Oh, and before i froget." Ayame looked at me questioningly.
"Lets keep the whole "curses may be intertwined" from Akito, as I'd rather not cause some "who's the actual head of the family" issues within the Sohma family" Ayame nodded.
"I suppose that makes sense."
Just then I happened to glance at the clock.
"Oh no!" I shouted, quickly moving away and gathering my things. "I need to get home! The twins are probably wondering where I am!" Then I stopped, and smacked my forehead with my palm.
"Damn it! I need to go grocery shopping!" I slowly began to panic.
"What am I supposed to do?! The grocery store is closed by now!" By now tears were streaming down my face as I realised it was pointless to think I could take care of my siblings. Ayame quickly pulled me into a hug.
"Shhhh dear, it's ok, shhhh" he said softly, rubbing my back.
"I- I'm sorry, I shouldn't- I shouldn't be crying," I blubbered, trying to calm down.
"You have every right to cry right now dear, you've been through quite a bit." He continues to rub my back for a few minutes as I calmed down.
"How about I take you and your siblings out to dinner?" He said with a wink. "My treat." I shook my head.
"No, I- I couldn't, I've already been enough trouble." Ayame chuckled.
"Oh it's no trouble at all! In fact I was going to eat alone, so you guys can keep me company!" He said, back to his usual perky self. I sighed.
"Fine, lets just get going." Wiping away my tears I quickly made myself presentable and walked towards the door. When I reached the entrance I turned to look back at Ayame.
"Coming?" He blinked.
"Oh, yep!" He then flounced across the room and outside, me following behind.
