Ed, Stephane and myself, sat outside the medical room while the doctors looked and assessed him. I looked up at the two of them, I wanted to ask what had happened, and how they had done the things they did, but I knew from the look in their eyes, that they had no idea about what had happened either. I managed to look at Stephane again and she looked at me, her beautiful hair and eyes, and she was so kind, and selfless and...What was I thinking, where did that come from, I don't know. I forced my eyes away from hers and thought about what happened outside, the robots, the "powers", it was all so strange. Many questions formed in my mind, but also a twinge of jealousy, why didn't I get cool powers like everybody else?

I paid a visit down to the exercise room (yes, we have an exercise room in our laboratory, it's a big laboratory, sorry, i'm getting distracted, back to the story). I had a nagging feeling that I was going to need to build up my strength. I started by running on the treadmill, but it felt much easier than it ever had. I stopped and went over to the dumbells, it was still hard, but I didn't seem to run out of energy. For whatever reason, I left the exercise area, and went down to the artificial jungle (and yes, we have an artificial jungle for testing out plants and stuff, I don't know, ask Stephanie, it was her idea, just, we have an artificial jungle, and continue). I looked at the towering trees, and felt strong, I jumped towards one of the trees, then I jumped off it, onto another tree, then I jumped off that onto another tree, and another, and another, I don't know how long I did that for, it felt like only a few minutes, I never really grew tired. The others came into the jungle, and called out to me "is this where you've been". I jumped down, walked up to them and said "what do you mean, i've only been here a few minutes, haven't I ?" "no, Ed replied, you've been gone for hours"

I lay in bed, thinking about what had just happened, then I came into grips of what I just did, I jumped off the trunks of trees, onto other trees, for several hours, without tiring. Now I didn't feel left out anymore, I had agility like no other, I wondered if I could do anything else.

The next morning, we all sat at the table, eating breakfast, thinking about yesterday's events. Drake had gone up to the surface just to get another look at what had happened to our town, but of course, he never questioned whether it actually happened or not, as his body was half covered in metal. "What should we do" asked Stephanie, "what can we do" I replied. We all thought about what we could do, but no-one said a word.

I decided to go back to the jungle, and try out my "powers" again. I went to the jungle again, bringing a stopwatch. I started it and began jumping from trunk to trunk of the standing, living trees all around me. When I stopped, I checked the stopwatch 04:48:36 wow, four hours, forty-eight and a half minutes. I sat down and thought about that, I wasn't tired, I wasn't dizzy, and I wasn't thirsty, (I was a bit hungry though, and I could smell lunch so you can't blame me). I left the jungle and went back to the exercise room. I went up to the punching bag, and began attacking it, with extreme skill I didn't know I had, I punched the bag with awesome strength, not super-strength, but increased strength.

Drake came up the elevator into the exercise room, I knew I couldn't beat Drake in a fist fight, but I wanted to see how I went, so I asked him to fight me. He came up to me and said that he didn't want to hurt me, so he wouldn't use his full strength, but invited me to. I fought him with extreme skill in hand-to-hand combat, and I thought for a second that I might beat him. Then he punched me. Hard. It hurt. I had most of the air knocked out of me, but I could still stand, that was what amazed Drake the most I think. He said that I had done a very good job, and that he had underestimated me in the way of fighting. I thanked him and left.

I went up to have lunch, but I never went to the table, never got any food. Instead, I went up to the front door, and left.

I found a robot quite easily, patrolling the area, I wanted to look at hem, understand them, and most importantly, found out what was going on. Unfortunately, before I could do any of that, he saw me. I jumped out of my hiding spot, jumped up to a lamp post, rebounded off it, onto his head, started smashing his head into the rest of his body, and punching him, and kicking him. Yes, it hurt. It was made of steel, I get it. But it seemed to do the job, his red glowing eyes faded into a dull colour, eventually reaching black, empty eyes. I picked up the gun he was carrying and ran back to our base (which is what we called it now).

I brought the gun down to our exercise room. I had nowhere else to practice. I set up some targets, made of metal, so I wouldn't damage anything. I had never used a gun before, that was why I was so surprised about hitting a bullseye every shot. From 50 metres away, with a machine gun. I now saw that my powers were agility, hand-to-hand combat and shooting. I wondered if I could do anything else. So I asked Stephanie if she could shape a sheet of metal into a sword, she looked as if she didn't know why, but didn't question it. She picked up a sheet of steel with her mind, and ripped it apart, until it took shape of a sword. I picked it up, brought it over to the targets, and started swinging the sword at them. I did this, yet again, with high skill as if I had practiced it all my life, when i had never done it before. Ever.

I went up to dinner, and thought. We spoke of what we could do about the robot apocalypse...
