Gabrielle Dawson
"Hey fat-ass, would you mind getting your blubber out of the way? You're blocking the notes." Sneered Bethany Alvarez, the school's queen bitch.
Of course her comment made my entire fourth period class laugh. They always laugh at me, it's like I'm some sort of human target.
Bethany is a rich snob who has made it publicly known that she hates my guts. The signs are everywhere.
When I'm in class she humiliates me. When I walk the halls, she gets one of her many slaves to shove me. And you don't want to know what she does during lunch.
Bethany believes that since our school was named after her precious grandfather, she's the school's precious gem.
Another cause of Bethany's hatred towards me is that I'm not an attractive person. I don't have perfect teeth, clear skin, or the perfect body. In fact, my parents don't even waste their time on that, 'It's just baby fat' crap. They and I both know, that I am overweight. And to top it all of, they think of themselves as "savvy shoppers". Which is another term for bargain hunters. That means, most of my clothes are either from thrift shops, or hand-me-downs from my cousin, Big Sadie.
"Come on Bethany. Why are you making fun of her weight?" My heart fluttered with hapiness as I looked around for the classroom for the person with such kind words for me. But I was confused to see the one face that I would have never suspected.
Felix Goodwin.
Felix was sitting next to Bethany, his brown hair styled perfectly so that it stayed untouched by the wind, on his forehead. He was so perfect yet, he was Bethany's boyfriend, so it would be natural that he would hate me as well. However, here he was surprising me by . Proving that Felix Goodwin is crushworthy.
"I mean, why talk about her weight, when we could talk about that ugly outfit she has on. Looks like Fat Albert decided to join the circus." He half mumbled, half chuckled.
Hot tears decided to make an entrance on my cheeks as the class erupted into fits of giggles and chuckles.
So much for crushes.
I rushed out of the class, trying to escape the intense laughter of room 312. I couldn't believe Felix would say something like that. This was one of my most expensive outfits. I've saved my allowance for a year to buy this and now, I'm the laughing stalk of the entire Junior class. Curse Bethany Alvarez and her lackies.
I sank to the cold marble floor and rested my head in my arms. I didn't care if anybody passed in the hallyway, it's not like they would care about me anyway. So I rested my arms against my knees and cried my eyes out.
What have I ever done to them?
"I should ask you the same question." A voice spoke softly from behind me.
It didn't startle me like many things would have. Instead, it was soothing, almost like a friend; which is something I need at a moment like this. I paused at the realization that I must have spoken out loud.
"Leave me alone. I just want to cry in peace." The voice chuckled and he sank down right beside me. I still cried.
"Now, now. Don't cry anymore, there's nobody here that can harm you." The voice spoke yet again, revealing their accent. The stranger draped an arm over my shoulder, and automatically froze. I mean, I literally froze. My body felt like I'd jumped into freezing water.
I head shot up to the mystery voice who looked mysteriously shocked. His shock immediately faded and was replaced by a small grin.
I stared into the deep gray eyes of the person sitting next to me. He removed his arm and folded them over his knees, saying the words that would change my whole life.
