"I want to join the army and that I shall!"I heard Will yell.
Oh dear, the army...
Will's ambitions of how he wanted to spend his life had been a source of constant aggrivation in my household. The mere mention of the word would send my father into fits and my mother into floods of tears and me?Well I didn't know what to think.
"You shall do no such thing,you ungrateful little...!"My dad screamed slamming his hands on the table and sending a mug sailing to floor,smashing into a million pieces.
"Oh,no I had better clear that up,hm?"Flustered my mother,"Now where did I put that dustpan and brush..."
"Not..Now"Growled my father.
"Oh,yes we were talking about the army weren't we?"Hurried my mother,"Now William,dear,don't you think you should have a little think about this,I mean it's and awfully big comitment,and you could...be very hurt,"She continued too scared to even think of the possibilities of Will going to fight in Afaganistan.
"I have,this is what you tell me every time and I'm sick of it!I signed up last night my bags are packed and I am ready to go.I don't care if it's not what you want me to do,the papers are signed,it's too late to turn back,"Will said in a swaggering,supioror voice.
"You shall do no such thing-"My father shouted
"Watch me!"Will replied tauntingly,inturuptpting my father's ranting.
With that Will's chair clattered to the kitchen tiles and I attempted to run as quickly and as silently as possible to my room,the place I should've been.
It turns out that I cannot do either fast enough.
As Will made his way up the stairs he looked at me with his beautiful,emerald eyes and gave me a look that said 'you hear all of that didn't you?'. I nodded as a million tears pricked my eyes and he envolped me into a all consuming hug.
Resting his chin above my head he said,"Don't worry I'll be back soon,it's much safer these days,I promise,"Letting go of me he pushed his way into his room to grab 3 bags packed full to the brim of all his essentials.
"Goodbye beautiful,"Will whispered as he planted a gental kiss on my fore head and sauntered down the stairs.His air seemed to give of a noncholant I couldn't care less feel but as he opened the door and gave me once last peircing look with his beautiful green eyes all I saw was fear inside them.
