"Why?" I asked as I got angry.
"Because he is human and you know the rules about people like him," he replied becoming a little calmer and less tense than he was at dinner.
"Yeah! The rules that were useful when we were idiots and living in a freaking atic," I said having to catch a breathe from yelling at him. "Now those rules are as useless as... as..." I paused trying to think of something. I looked down at the ground for a minute then I looked Micheal straight in the eyes. "You."
He looked hurt, but I could tell he didn't want to show it because he's the leader and leaders have to be strong. If everyone know that he's become weak he'll loose his spot and the next strongest person will have to stand up. And the next strongest person... is me.
"You don't mean that," he said as he walked and got right up in my face.
"Yes. I. Do." He and I had the ultimate stare down (as usual), but this time I didn't break the stare and loose the battle... He did.
Everyone gasped and I smiled even though I didn't want the title I was happy everyone wouldn't see me as a baby anymore. Honostly I swear I thought Aunt Ruby was about to faint and it's not vampirely possible to faint.
"I... I guess your leader," he said as he stepped back.
"Wait. I don't want this title. I... I'm just sixteen and you have to twenty or older to become leader," I said trying to talk them out of giving the title to me.
"Sweetheart, the title's yours, take it," Uncle Thomas tried to change my mind.
"But.. what about Micheal. What's he have to say in this?" I asked hoping he was able to say something about this.
"I have nothing to say about this," he commented on the thing I said to Uncle Thomas.
I looked at Micheal with sad eyes, cause I had felt very, very bad. "Sorry Micheal, but... never mess with someone that can and will win." I said that then just walked away like a boss.
______________________________I went over to Cori's house to tell him the good news, but it sounded like he was a little busy.
I knocked and Mrs. Vince answered the door. "Hello Mrs. Kay," I said as I smiled from cheek to cheek.
"Ohh! Yes, dear he's upstairs," she said as she let me in.
I walked upstairs and heard Cori with someone else. It sounded like someone I knew, but I couldn't tell. Maybe they were off the track team or something, I don't know.
I knocked on his door and no one answered so I twisted the doorknob and seen It was unlocked so I went in, when I seen Cori making out with Chloee.
Now I know why she never liked me being with him. "What in the heck is going on in here?!" I asked furiated at them both.
"Em, what're doing here?" He asked scared that I'd hurt one of them.
"Chloee get home now!" I demanded. I could tell she was scared because I never called her Chloee, I would always call her Chlo and plus I just caught her kissing my boyfriend. Or used to be boyfriend, now.
"You can't tell her what to do. Only Aubry, Thomas, and Micheal can," he commented trying to stand up to her like he and I aren't or never were dating.
"Yes I can," I replied evilishly.
"How?"
"Becuase I'm now the leader," I grabbed Chloee's hand and dragged her downstairs.
We got to the door and Mrs. Kay looked very surprised to see Chloee becuase she had never let her in and she had been downstairs all day waiting for Mr. Vince to come home.
______________________________Her and I got home and inside. Everyone was talking and were happy until we walked in. "Chloee, where have you been?" Uncle Thomas asked getting veru furious at her.
"She was at Mr. and Mrs. Vince's home..." not knowing if I should finish my sentence so I stopped for a minute and thought, "kissing Cori."
"What do you want us to do?" Eli asked as she stepped up to Chloee.
OMG first decision as leader. "Hole." I said keeping a straight face even though I wanted to smile.
