Once upon a time, a few thousand years after humanity had been born, three siblings were born. Their holy parents named their eldest daughter Ember, their middle son Garst and their youngest Corinna. The children lived great childhoods. When Ember turned sixteen, she married brave Ahern, the chief warrior of Iceland. Garst, who was two years younger than Ember didn't marry until he was twenty-one. Corinna married an old warlock at the age of fifteen. The warlock had a fiery attitude and was strict, though he was considered very highly.
Garst could tell that his younger sister was not feeling well a few years after she got married. She stopped turning up to family gatherings. She didn't even attend Garst's own wedding where he married beautiful yet average Emerilla. Emerilla had ancient family lines. Her ancestor used to once be the King's Chief Advisor. One day Garst decided to investigate Corinna.
He slipped to Corinna and her husband's house and peeked his grey eye through the window. Garst was sickened. The old warlock, Khayal was yelling at Corinna. She cowered in a corner.
"You didn't even let me go to Garst's wedding!" Corinna had exclaimed.
"Why should you go? You will be at home, instead of befriending other men!" Khayal had yelled back.
Garst dashed home through the buffeting Icelandic winds. He told nobody, not his parents, not Emerilla, not Ember or Ahern. However, he could tell that not only he was getting worried. One day, Garst heard a knock on his door. Emerilla rushed out to answer. The chilling breeze swept through Garst's and Emerilla's house, extinguishing the fire. Ember stood outside and Emerilla let her in. Ember had a very tall stature for a woman; she had blue-grey eyes and light brown/blonde hair.
"Garst and Emerilla I brought you some cake I made yesterday. I'm taking some over to Corinna and Khayal too." Ember said. She quickly departed.
Ember stomped through the snow. When she got to Corinna and Khayal's house, she thought she heard screaming. Well, it was hard to know because sometimes the Icelandic gale could make odd sounds. Ember knocked on the door and waited for several minutes. Suddenly the door burst open and someone grabbed Ember, pulling her in and slamming the door.
Ember saw her attacker, Corinna.
"What?! Corinna is my sister! This must be a joke. And it's certainly not funny." Ember thought.
Corinna's grey eyes, so identical to Garst's poured into Ember's blue-grey ones. Her mousy brown hair was tied horribly and looked as though someone had been holding her by it. To Ember's horror, she saw Khayal lying in a corner and a pool of blood which was his own. Corinna held Khayal's sword.
"Corinna! What's happening?" Ember shrieked.
"I can't let you remember this. Yes, I shall flee and you shall take the blame. The spell... the spell." Corinna hissed.
"You're a witch! You're a devil!!!" Ember yelled.
"Yes. Maybe I am a devil."
And that was when Ember's memory was gone and the moment she became possessed.
