The Beginning

"As I said to you...." Lance is saying something and I'm not listening to what he was saying because my head is filled of questions of the girl I met in the library. In short, I can't still get over about what she was saying and how she disappeared like a bubble.

"Are you listening?" I came back to reality when Lance poked my cheeks.

I wiped his hands away that is poking my cheeks and looked at him saying he's disturbing me.

"Am I going to start over again" and I heard Lance sighed. "As I was saying...." And he still continued running his mouth.

What clicked me the most to this irritating talk of him is about the news earlier.

"It's disgusting right? How can any murderer do those things?" He still keep talking.

The thing about he was saying is about the found corpse near at the bay. It creeps me out how the man was killed. There were no scratches in his body and his body organs are missing when they found him. Unsightly it could be but only the skin was left.

The records also said that the name of the corpse was Harry Thomson, a business man who has a underground records and they undergo an investigation to prove if it's related about his recent activities. This investigation was held a week ago and after confirming this and was supposed to be arrested, he was found dead earlier.

I don't know if the person behind this is a fond of justice or not but since this is a serious case for the police, they think one of the people who he was working with is behind all of this and they are still finding more clues for this is be confirmed completely.

"After this incident, we can't have a freedom to roam in the street anymore because someone might target you" Lance said shivering in fear.

"This era already has a record of having a lot of criminal activities. We should get used to this already dumbass" I said to him as I throw words at him.

"But that's not the problem here" He started sighing again and I saw him pulled something in his bag.

When he got already the thing he was looking for, he gave me this paper. I thought it was an important notice from the administration of the school but it looks like it was one of his idiot's results again.

"And what do I need to do with this score?" I said to him as I make him face the paper and make him looked at his 0 score from the quiz earlier.

"Please help me" and he started begging.

I sighed and looked at the score.

"You're really bad at literature" I said and sighed again.

"Please teach me" He said while doing his dumb looking puppy eyes again.

I face palmed and did what I need to do. If I'm not here, I guess he wouldn't graduate middle school the same year as me.

It took all of my free time to teach this idiot about literature and it seems like we didn't notice that the sun is already setting.

"We need to go home, the street is dangerous at this hour" I said to him and pack things up. He did the same thing and we went outside the room.

As his driver was already there to get him and mine was still not, he said I should get a ride with him but I rejected his offer.

Lance was worried there might things that will happen to me if I wouldn't ride with him. That thought came to my mind but I still rejected him and walk our separate ways.

"Bye Auburt and be careful" he said and left.

I looked at my phone and texted my driver to not get me because I still have things to do, in short, I'm going to the library again to see if the girl I met there before is still visiting the library.

Even if the rumors are spread about the killer roaming around our area, I do not worry myself such as those things because I completely doubt myself as their target. Their target possibly be criminals like them so I'm confident I'm not going to be their next target.

As what I planned, I went to the library to see if the girl was there but again, there's no trace of her.

I know she said that I don't need to look for her and I also don't know why that girl picks my interest. It's my first time that's why I want to find her and clarify why I'm feeling like this.

I get out to the library defeated again. I can't gain anything in return to what I am doing right now but it's not an excuse for me to give up to things.

I decided to go home and waited for a bus. I don't like relying to our workers so I decided to commute instead calling my driver.

A bus stopped in front of me and the door was opened for me to enter but I was stopped in the middle of coming inside the bus when I saw a glimpse of the girl I saw in the library.

"Sir are you coming in or not?" the bus driver is a bit irritated because I'm making him wait for too long.

I stepped backward, didn't say anything back to the driver and ran towards the place where I saw the girl.

When I was about to get to her place where she was standing, she disappeared quickly.

I looked around to see if she's still around and I saw her walking towards an alley.

This will be dangerous if I continue following her but I still kept on doing it until I found myself inside a dark alley, only one post is lighting the place and then I saw her pinned on the wall by a man whose skin is almost like eating his bones because of how thin he is and he's looking at her in a perverted way.

My senses of punching the guy on his face suddenly filled my body and unconsciously punched him.

"What the...." The guy is weak because of his body and was easily knocked down.

I looked at the girl and she was surprised seeing me in this place but she quickly changed her expression to a poker face.

"Are you dumb?" She said not even scared to this situation.

"No" I coolly said to her.

"Are you an acquaintance of her?" He got himself up and the mark of my punch is still visible in his cheeks.

He started to smile creepily that made my spine shiver.

This is not an ordinary situation.

The guy licked his lips and looked at us like a carnivore.

"I may have a good night" He said and his shadow started to get big and I was dumbfounded to the situation when I saw it's shadow take shape.

"Let's eat dinner" the huge shadow said.
