Chapter 4: James Is A Tutor?

JAMES' POV

I'm in the library at the moment, trying to get a few books for an essay in Muggle studies. (Something about a motorcycle, whatever that is and yes I do my homework otherwise how else can be the year topper)

Tap Tap Tap.

Are those footsteps I hear? I turn around to see Evans there, with a nervous look on her face.She was nibbling her bottom lip and twirling her hair nervously.

"U-Uh Potter, I need to talk to you, PRIVATELY at that."

"What for?"

"I just need to talk to you."

"All right, come with me."

I took her to a corner behind the charms section, it was a bit secluded from the rest of the library. What did Lily want to talk to me about? Was it a confession?

"W-Well, the thing is..."

Her face was so red, it has to be a confession, it has to be!!

"I need you to teach me Transfiguration!"

Huh? Teach her Transfiguration? So much for thinking it was a confession.

"But you don't need any help in Transfiguration."

"Yeah... You wouldn't say so after you see this masterpiece", she muttered, slowly opening her hand to reveal a neon yellow lizard with feathers on its back.Not able to take it anymore, I started to laugh.

"Shut up! Everyone makes mistakes!"she shouted.

"Well not one that big!"

Shush. Great, we're so loud that even Madam Pince can hear us.

"Look here, are you going to teach me or not?"

Wait, I need to go through the pros and cons of this situation.

Pro: I get to spend time with Lily.

Con: She'll insult me half the time.

Pro: I might get a chance to woo her.

Con: She'll probably hit me.

Pro: We might become friends, or something even better.

Con: She might (Mostly will) hex me.

Pro: She might ask me out.

Con: If I ask her out she might reject me (Again).

Con: I'm already "dating" Emmie.

Con: We'll get shouted at be madam Pince for shouting at each other.

Con: There are a lot of chances of death.

So the answer must be...

"Sure Evans. I'll tutor you, but I have a few conditions.

1.No insults

2.No violence

3.Don't bring sharp things like knives or spears to the tuitions

4.No hexes

5.No killing

6.You have to call me James not Potter, all right?"

"But that's too many! and why can't I call you Potter? "

"Cause that isn't my name, well, it is, but still."

"But-"

"Fine, go ask someone else."

As I turn around to leave she grabs my shoulder and says, " Fine, I accept your conditions"

"Then we'll start next Thursday at 8 o' clock, deal?"

I held out my hand, but she hesitates, isn't she going to take it, cause a handshake which is not excepted is the worst insult and I do not want to look like a fool

She sighs and says, "Deal.", and takes my hand.

Merlin's beard, is this actually happening right now? God I can't wait until I get back to the common room to tell the guys!!
