The streetlights reflected off the fog and together they danced. The truck roared down the street, the only sound for miles. Hard rock was quietly playing on the radio, only there for background noise. You take this precious time to study the stranger beside you. His shiny black hair pulled back in a bun, his left knuckles white on the steering wheel, right hand resting on his thigh. When you looked back up your eyes met and you realized just how much danger you could be in.
I don't know this guy
I don't know what he's capable of
But you knew one thing:
Putting yourself in danger is the only way for you to feel. Numb had become your sole emotion. But not when you don't know what's coming next. The danger at every corner was a drug. You promised yourself this new town was a chance to rehabilitate. But even the strongest willed slip up sometimes... right?"Patrick"
The stranger gets a name.
"Y/N"
Patrick returns his stare to the road ahead as he swiftly turns a corner onto a dirt road. He stops when he reaches the edge of a river. He brought you an empty beach where no one would bother you. It's almost as if he knew what you had planned. Or maybe it was just wishful thinking on his part.
"I don't know you"
You nod in agreement to his statement.
"New girl" you give him quietly
The calmness of the conversation wasn't so much awkward as it was just that, calm. It was pleasant. Almost like relaxing with someone you've known all along. You look into his eyes with a soft curve of your lips and yet again he is stone. Unreadable. The peacefulness was nice but you weren't here for nice. Time for some fun.
