Chapter Two - New Beginnings
Instead of driving to North Carolina we went by airplane. It is so magnificent with the birds soaring passed the airplane windows and the fluff white clouds up in the most beautiful light blue sky. I found myself wishing that I would never leave this sky again, but I know what goes up, most come down.
When we got to the North Carolina airport daddy rented an SUV that was the color wildcat blue, so we could drive the rest of the way to get to our new home. We were in the car for what felt like years, but really had only been 5 hours since we left the airport and I was starting to feel nervous.
"Dad how much longer until we get there? I have to use the bathroom really bad." Monica asked over the car radio that happen to be playing Violet Hill by: Coldplay at the time.
"Not much longer Monica now sit back we will be there soon. I take that back we are here now." Dad insured her.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw our new home. It was a two story modern but still wicked looking type house you could say that it is right out of a magazine, well maybe out of an gothic one any ways it sits up on a mountain, has a lot of trees all round it, with a porch that goes around to about half of the house on both sides, with a walk way that goes up to the door which is the color brown and has one of those classic type windows in it, and the house itself was the color black, with white around the windows.
We all got out of the car leaving our bags sitting in the trunk walk up to the wooded brown door and walked inside.
Mom started to name off all the house had inside as we stood there in amazement. "The house has a den, work studio, game room, fire place, a cellar, kitchen, laundry room, two guestrooms, a basement, living room, two and half bathrooms, one master bedroom, and five kid rooms."The rooms were so big it looked like it could fit two or three of my old bedroom in each one. It also has walk in closets that was big enough to have a sleepover in with about twenty girls. I couldn't believe how much this house has in it.
Even the staircases were cool. There are two different staircases one that is in front of the front door and the other is where you can come from up stair right into the kitchen. You might not think that is cool, but I do because now I don't have to walk that far to get to the kitchen.
As I was looking around mom came up behind me. "This house also has secret rooms for things we need to keep out of the sight of the normals (as in humans)."
I just looked at her with glee. "Mom can you show us were the secret rooms are?"
"In due time my child, in due time. Right now, go look at the rest of the house." Mom kiss me on the forehead and then walked off.
So, I went off to the back yard to see what was back there. Which was a pool that looks like it was in the shape of a gigantic circle and a hot tab that is in a shape of a wicked looking star with a pool house off to the side of it. I went to see what was behind it and found a greenhouse which holds plants and herbs. The rest of the yard is big enough that we could do anything we wanted to.
When we lived in New York City that house didn't even have as much. It was so small we really didn't have too much to do. We didn't even have a lot of rooms to do much in.
I was still thinking about the secret rooms my mom was talking to me about. The only thing that would stop her from showing me was that she didn't know where that. That is when I got an idea. "Mom, mom, mom, where are you?"
