Law spoke earnestly. The previous mischievous look he had completely vanished without a trace.
I gulped at this.
Did he kill someone or something? Because that's how serious it sounds.
Swallowing a shaky breath, I whispered out some shallow words "I won't..."
"Good, now listen. You may find it hard to believe but our college..."
He paused once again, making me even more nervous. Is our school haunted? Is our full of criminals? Although that last one doesn't sound too unrealistic.
"...is not ordinary".
Well, I figured that much.
"You see, some of the students that go to our college have strange 'abilities'"
"Like superpowers?" I questioned with too much enthusiasm.
"Simply said, yes" He watched as my grin grew wider at the thought of having powers "only people that have these 'powers' know about it, that includes some teachers".
"So do you have powers?" My mind went wild with possibilities at the amusing idea.
"I do" He affirmed, not specifying.
"Are your powers the cause of this whole trouble then?" I speculated. He must be the reason for our switch, I mean I'm sure I don't have any powers or anything.
"I don't think there's anything my powers could do in this situation. So what I thought was that..." Law's words slightly trailed off as soon as he saw my understanding expression.
"You're saying that I did it?" I cheerfully said, the thought of having super abilities sounds like a dream.
But should I be happy?
What if I'm not able to use it again? What if I can't find a way to switch us back? All those questions ran through my mind as Law began speaking.
"Okay, what was the last thing you can remember before we switched?"
I thought back to the time of the event, "The last thing I saw was your disgusting face, and I was thinking about just how unpleasant you are".
He clicked his tongue at my words and glared at me in slight anger, but spoke regardless, "try recalling the way you felt while thinking about switching with me".
Law took hold of my wrist and placed it on his shoulder. The sudden touch of his bare fingers made me recoil, yet he ignored it.
I tried what he had said, concentrating only in these thoughts. But I couldn't bring myself to do anything. We just stood there, facing each other, waiting for a miracle.
It never arrived.
"I can't do it" I sighed in disapproval.
"Tsk, it's fine for now. Maybe there was an action that triggered the switch. If only we could remember" He murmured in thought "Come, let's go down".
I followed close behind as Law made his way back to the living room. He sat on the sofa, I did the same but at the other end.
We had to look for a way to find what was it that I did before the switch. But how.
"Wait, are there not cameras around the school? If we had access to them, maybe we could see what happened" I reasoned as I turned my head to look at Law.
"That's not such a bad idea... We can always check them out tomorrow" He sighed while rubbing his temple.
"So we're going to be stuck like this even longer..." I grumbled "Oh, by the way... Can you show me your powers?"
