Mari's POV

I am still grappling with the zombie, Trying to not get pulled through the window when I hear someone running over to me. I see Sohinki clutching his screwdriver in his right hand as he approached the zombie quickly. Sohinki clearly wasn't thinking because he could stab me by accident. He looked like he wasn't going to listen anytime soon. I easily twist my head and dodge the screwdriver though, But as the zombie got stabbed, It scratched the side of my face near my eyes. I fall to the floor in panic and just start hyperventilating from the shock. Sohinki goes to get the others while I touch my temple to feel the scratch on the side of my head. "Battle scars." I mutter, stifling a sly smile.

The others finally arrive to see me as a hot mess on the ground. "What happened?" Flitz asks, taking a close look at the scratch on my face. "A zombie tried to pull her through the window." Sohinki says, Looking at Flitz. "Wait! We need to block the window! We already got the backdoor, But it will be useless if we have one complete entry into the house." Flitz yells, Making everyone turn their heads at a zombie coming through the window. I take the gun out of my bag and shoot the zombie straight in the skull. "Wait, you had a gun?!" Joven asks, snatching it out of my hands. "Yeah. Finders keepers. It had only one bullet though." I say, giving him a smirk. He tosses the gun back at me, but doesn't take his eyes off the gun. "Besides. That was a good shot right?" I ask, looking at Joven who gives a sly smile. "I guess." He says under his breath, taking at glance at me, then at the floor. "By the way guys, I managed to fix the WIFI. I am not sure how we were using it before though without a circuit board." Sohinki adds, Coming back from another room. "True. That is very peculiar." Flitz agrees, Rubbing his chin in a detective manner. Hmm. I pick myself up off the floor, Seeing a door near the stairs that looks like it wasn't touched in a while. "I am just going use the restroom upstairs. Be right back!" I say, pretending to walk upstairs until they turned around. I open the door silently, Seeing it was pitch-black. I left a flashlight in my bag in case I needed one for camping, but everyone was still there. I just plunge into the darkness, But I run into something heavy. "Ouch." I say, rubbing my forehead. I try to see if I can make out what the heavy object was by squinting, But it was very hard to do that in the dark. I feel around the room, Picking up something that felt like a rifle. I also Picked up a box of something. Cigarettes? I hold them tight, then try to make my way out the darkness. I stumble out of the room and shut the door, Hiding the rifle behind my back. "Hey guys! Look what I found!" I yell, holding a childish smile on my face. They all look at the rifle in my hands in concern. "Where did you find that?" Ian asks, a look of worry on his face. "I found it hanging in the bathroom." I lie, suppressing a cough. They nod and continue talking about something. I listen in on the conversation, hearing them talking about strategies and rationing to survive this apocalypse. I nod silently, Looking over at Sohinki with a suppressed smile.
