Case 5

*•*•*

Y/N

"I need you to be her prosecutor. I need for her to know I have no chance against you, that she will be claimed as guilty. I know you're the only opponent who can do it." Taehyung locked the door to the empty courtroom anxiously.

"Why... why do you want this? She's your dear childhood friend and you wish to call her a murderer?" Jimin stroked his hair in frustration and sighed aloud.

"Taehyung, no one knows of our relationship that we had before this and that Y/N is actually innocent. Everyone believes what they want to, that we only met at court few days ago and that Y/N is a filthy murderer who poisoned her pitiful father to death." Jimin leaned on the tables set up in the front while Taehyung walked around aimlessly.

"Do you know why I'm like this Jimin? Do you know why the naive lawyer who only helped the innocent turned to one that now wishes to claim others as guilty and help the wrong? In case you didn't know, it was because of my dad. He- the head of a great law firm -was accused of faulty murder when he was innocent." Taehyung pounded his fists against the table and kicked the chairs set up beside the desks over.

"You want to cause sorrow to another because your dad suffered?"

"YOU KNOW JUST HOW MUCH MY DAD MEANT TO ME JIMIN. There was no one like him. He was my role model and showed me so much... and yet... the bright sunshine of my life was claimed a murderer and sentenced to death in a week." A tear slipped down as he screamed aloud across the room.

"And it was the stupid fucking lawyer's fault. Claiming that he was safe in his hands, but what bullshit is that? This lawyer, he probably intended this. This lawyer...  WAS Y/N'S HIDEOUS DAD. HE COULDN'T PROTECT MY DAD AND CAUSED PAIN TO LEAK EVERYWHERE IN OUR FAMILY."

Only silence remained after Taehyung's wrath as he slowly sank into a chair.

"It was only two months ago before... before he left."

"If you felt that way, how do you think Y/N feels? She was just like your father, charged of murder when innocent and soon to be claimed guilty. But worse part is, the murder victim was her dad. She was framed for killing her dad. And you can't compare that to your agony. No, its fucking stupid if you do, so stop talking bullshit and prove her innocent. I'm not claiming an innocent, guilty, for your pleasure."

Taehyung slowly stood up and walked to the door in silence.

"I don't think you can deny my request. Think of the favor you still owe me. Don't let your emotions get in the way." With that, Taehyung left, leaving Jimin speechless.

"The favor..." Jimin said quietly while placing his quivering fingers on his lips.

"Shit..." He muttered slowly, rising.

You sat quietly in the tiny jail cell, trying to fall asleep but being unable to do so.

Suddenly, you heard the clanging of the door, swiftly sitting up to see Taehyung.

"Yo. How's the weather down there?" He asked calmly in a poker face.

"Could be better." You smiled weakly, as if you were going to break soon, fragile as porcelain.

"You want to hear the bad news that I fished up?" He asked slowly, putting on a nervous facade.

You shook your head, but nodded right after.

"Is that a yes or a no, walnut head?" Taehyung asked while smirking.

"A yes..." You muttered quietly under your breath while Taehyung prepared himself.

"Your prosecutor is the Park Jimin." He said while searching for a reaction from you.

"Great. I guess I won't be able to feel the weather out there anymore." You felt hallow while speaking in a monotonous tone.

Bad news didn't feel as worse as your pain, and good news never enlightened you or overweighed your suffering.

"Do you have any good news?" You asked for a little tiny hope to break your engulfing darkness.

"I already told you few days ago." He giggled while examining the jail bars.

"So far nothing has really struck me as good news." You said clueless.

"That hurts..." He said while clenching his heart.

"The good news was that I was your lawyer." He smiled in your direction while you cocked your head in confusion.

"I'll help you out of this mess. I promise to give you good news few days later that will overweigh the suffering you're going through."

You didn't know why, but in the back of your head, all you could hear were voices whispering to you quietly...

"Lies..."

"Lies..."

"Just another one of them."
