Case 6

Y/N
Court. Trial.
It was today. The police officer unlocked the jail cell as they handcuffed you. The time of feeling caged or locked up was interminable. You had gotten used to eating stale bread and soup that tasted either way too salty or way to bland.
This had been going on for at least a week. The lawyers would continually postponed the trial dates, saying there had to be more evidence or that they were just not ready yet. They were just probably trying to find evidence to back up the point that you did murder your dad and that you were guilty all along.
"Lawyers only care about their reputations and money. Never did they once think of proving the innocent right." You mumbled while blowing the hair out of your face.
"You're wrong miss." You looked from the officer to the owner of the voice, Taehyung.
"Good morning." You said while forcing on a smile.
"Afternoon actually." He smirked while tapping his watch.
"Don't worry Y/N. I'm not here for the reputation or money. I'm here to actually free you from all the strains."
You brightened slightly, reminding yourself about trust before losing total grasp of it all.
"Thanks Tae Tae... I believe in you. I want to."

"With her father ill from cancer and being supported at the hospital, Y/N visited him with her family on September 18th, 2018. At the moment of her brother and mother's absence in the room, Y/N's father died suddenly with no physical harm done. Through the autopsy, the suspect here, Y/N, is charged of first degree murder, intentionally killing her father through poison and planning her murder on the day the hospital lost electricity." You looked up and met Jimin's eyes as he sat back down anxiously.
He lowered his gaze at you before quickly looking toward Taehyung.
"As most of Lawyer Park's statements state the fact, some are inferences and cannot be supported. For example, the black out happened only two to three days ago when Y/N and her family was not listed on the visitors list." Taehyung slowly walked over to the witness which was a nurse that worked at the hospital at the time of your visit.
"Is that true witness?" Taehyung queried while raising one his eyebrows.
"Yes..." The nurse's voice shook nervously as she agreed with Taehyung. "The blackout happened only few days before her visit."
Taehyung smiled in satisfaction before sitting back down beside you.
Clearing his throat, Jimin rose again and spoke confidently. "Because of the blackout, the security cameras were unable to record anything that happened between the time periods, 3:52 pm to 6:18 pm. Therefore, the suspect was not spotted when entering the hospital and secretly injecting some poison into the food of her father."
He was afraid deep inside, you could tell.
Why?
"The poison, everyone may be wondering, came from the plant called belladonna. It comes from the area near Germany and is the reason why all the scientists were confused when seeing it as the result of the autopsy. They had no-"
"Objection-..." Taehyung took a deep breath before standing up firmly.
"Outlawed. I want to hear this." The judge said sternly before Taehyung sat straight back down in frustration.
Taehyung saw your shaking hand before grasping it tightly and smiling at you.
"Don't worry." He whispered to you reassuringly.
You started to tremble in fear as you could already see a loss. You could already imagine yourself in a cramped corner of a jail cell, eating stale bread and crying to sleep ever night.
When Jimin yelled out your name, you looked up to see his intent gaze which seemed to form tears in your eyes and freeze you in place.
His gaze softened suddenly, and you could feel the empathy and sympathy pouring from inside.
"Witness..." He said calmly not separating his eyes from you, "Do you recall when exactly the blackout was?"
The judge furrowed his eyebrow at Jimins odd question. Taehyung stuttered and let go of your hand.
"I- I said two to three-" the nurse's nervousness was quite evident to everyone in the room.
"WITNESS! I WANT YOU TO..." he took a deep breath before approaching her, "... not lie and tell the truth during trials."
Taehyung stood abruptly in defense. "The witness stated everything. The blackout happened two to three days ago."
"No, it did not." Jimin's voice was irritated as he stroked his hair in frustration while looking up at the judge.
"I apologize your honor," he started, "...but everything I've said so far was all far from the truth." He looked towards your direction before continuing his claim.
"Y/N is not guilty for committing a first degree murder on her father."
