"Tracer!" Isabell roared, slamming her nunchucks down and smashing them through the head of the next robot. "Watch your back!"

"Got it, boss!" Tracer hollered back and Blinked around behind the robot that would have taken off her head. She grinned, giving Isabell a boy scout salute and pretending to write notes before firing her pulse pistols at the next wave.

"For God's sake, Lena!" Isabell yelled, crunching her nunchucks into the ground and sending cracks spewing bright white light exploding through the concrete. The robots fell with howling, screeching noises. "Just because I got put in charge of the mission does not make me your boss and does not mean you have to antagonize me about it!"

"You've been in Australia for an entire year!" Lena protested, shooting three robots in the head. "I'm allowed to tease my friend!"

"You've barely let me stay a month at a time," Isabell bellowed back as she wrapped the chain of her nunchucks around the neck of the nearest robot and ripped its head off. "What is this, the fourteenth mission?"

"Fifteenth!" Lena replied, backflipping over more robots and blasting them in the head. "But come on - this one is fun!"

"We are being attacked by killer robots," Isabell shouted. "This was supposed to be a stealth mission! Get in, shut down the power core and none of them even wake up. But someone had to investigate the creepy noises and end up activating three goddamn aircraft hangars of them, didn't he?"

"I was trying to make sure nothing sneaked up on us!" Lucio hollered, leaping onto a wall and coming down on three robots' heads with his armored fists. "I was being helpful!"

"Does this look helpful?" Isabell and Lena yelled at the same time, and laughed despite hell raining on them in the form of laser bullets and crunching metal teeth.

"So how is Jamie going?" Lena asked, blasting a robot so close behind Isabell that the plasma bullet warmed her skin. "I mean, other than explodey."

"Shitty as always," Isabell answered, whipping out a nunchuck and giving a faceful of radiation to a robot about to bite into Tracer's skull. "Roadie's, like, 85% of his impulse control and he's gone to his sister's wedding or something. I found Jamie setting fire to every cleaning product he could find yesterday."

Lucio laughed, before asking seriously, "How's Tayanna?"

"Much better," Isabell replied, crunching her boot into a robot's face. "She got the job as Diplomatic Officer for Relations with Omnics, and she's been over the moon for weeks. Jamie still won't stop smiling whenever he sees her and she keeps asking him what's so funny - he's just glad that uniting Tayanna and Annayat brought her memories back. I swear, he's just a kid sometimes."

Lucio spat out water he'd procured from nowhere and laughed. "Only sometimes?"

"Yeah," Isabell said with a quiet, soft smile on her face. "Only sometimes."

Three hours later, the aircraft hangar was full of broken robots, blood and oil. Isabell, Lucio and Tracer, all breathing heavily, radioed in about their success and blew up the building behind them. They clambered into the  plane, Isabell managing to nab the shower impossibly before Lena could - probably because her boots had better grip than Tracer's shoes when coated in oil.

As the plane rumbled to life, Isabell switched on the water and waited for it to heat up while looking at herself in the mirror.

She'd cut her long ponytail, and now it only went to her shoulderblades. It got in the way too much. As she unclipped the choker circlet around her throat, the thin white scar revealed itself. She was used to it by now - it was part of her as much as her fingers. She was slick up to the elbows in oil, blood and sweat, her dark suit spattered in it, her circlets still glowing white faintly after the battle.
