A/N: I'm back! I know it took me so long to get to a new one but I'm here now!
Anyway, straight into it, Malec above and I think I'm going to avoid any music as I have no ideas as to what to use in this story. The story starts off quite sad so I'm sorry about that.
Comment your thoughts and feelings and any ideas you want me to incorporate, share with your friends and vote if you think I deserve it. Thank you all so much for your patience.

Alec remembers the day he first got his clock. At the age of ten, every person wakes to a clock in their room on their birthday. To a ten-year-old, it's quite exciting seeing how long you have left. To an adult, it's terrifying.
Alec remembers reading his clock for the first time at four in the morning on his birthday. Ten years, six months, twenty-three days, fourteen hours, fifty-seven minutes and thirty-three seconds. He remembers thinking he had a lifetime.
Now he sits, holding his clock, in his apartment he shares with Magnus, ten years, six months and twenty-one days later and he can't help but think that he doesn't have enough time. Enough time to have a family with Magnus, Rafe, and Max. Enough time to do good in the world.
"Alexander?" Magnus calls to him, startling the Shadowhunter into dropping his clock. "Where are you?"
Alec hastily grabbed the ticking time bomb and threw it into his bedside cabinet. Magnus knew not to go in there. Neither of them went into the others cabinet as they knew their clocks were in them.
"B-bedroom," Alec replied after having a moment to collect himself. A moment later, the door opened and Magnus peered in, smiling. He stepped in and sat down next to Alec. Alec lay his head down on Magnus's shoulder as the Warlock wrapped his arm around his boyfriend. "Max and Rafe get there alright?"
"Mhmm." Magnus breathed, turning to place a long kiss on the top of Alec's head. "Izzy's fine with looking after them for the weekend whilst we take a break."
"How she manages it, I'll never know." Alex joked.
Magnus laughed. "Me neither."
The pair fell into silence for a while. Alec found himself absentmindedly playing with Magnus's fingers.
"What's wrong?" Magnus asked, turning his hand over and locking his and Alec's hands together.
"What do you mean?" Alec mumbled, his face heating up with panic.
"You only do that-" Magnus twitched his fingers to emphasize what he meant, "-when you're feeling down."
Alec's head shot up from Magnus's shoulder to glare at him. "I do not!" he sniffed indignantly.
"Yes, love, you do. I can only assume it's a security thing but you only do it when something is on your mind and making you sad. You know how I feel about you being sad." Magnus replied sternly.
Alec sighed and lay back on the bed with a heavy thump. Magnus joins him and a few moments later, they're spooning with Alec lying on top of Magnus.
"Well?" Magnus prompts, gently running his hand through Alec's unruly hair.
"Just been thinking."
"About?"
Alec sighed and thought of an elaborate lie. "The Clocks."
Magnus's hand stilled. "What about the clocks?"
"The kids who didn't make it to their tenth birthday, they were all so excited to get them, to see, only to never actually get it."
