"Fiancé?" My highly surprised voice sounded more like a rat's squeal.

Embracing her tightly, and pushing himself onto her, Jonathan pinned Amanda against the wall. Though the scene told perfectly well about their relationship, it took me a full minute to let it completely sink.

"Since how long have you known each other?" I said, trying to sound normal by keeping the excitement out of my voice.

"A couple of months," said Amanda breathily in whatever time she got in between the kisses. "We met only a few days after I left Silver-" Her voice vanished midway when Jonathan bit her lip.

I thought of shooting another question but decided against it on realising the duo was lost in such a blissful state the outer world didn't matter to them.

"I missed you so much, babe." He held her even closer in his grip, and looked straight into her eyes. "I missed you so much." There were tears in Jonathan's eyes. And I wondered how it'd feel to see Sebastian again. How lovely it'd feel to collapse in his strong arms, gaze in his ever-so-calm, blue eyes, breathe his cologne mingled with his smell, and feel his beard scratching against my cheeks as I kiss him endlessly.

Enslaved by the sudden longing, my eyes grew moist. Careful not to let either know of my pain, which wasn't an issue considering how lost they were in this divine moment of reunion, I wiped my tears, and closed my eyes. Wherever he was, no matter what, I will find him.

"Jonathan," said Amanda sounding a little breathless.

"What?" Jonathan said, slowly pulling himself off her.

"We must leave." She wiped her lips. The passion in her eyes was gone replaced by a sudden disturbance. "They're coming. I can feel it in the darkness."

I looked around me. All the passages of this labyrinth looked the same - dark and stony. There was no way of knowing which way led in and which one out. And here we were at the intersection of three paths facing our crossroads all leading into the darkness, thick and impenetrable.

"They? Tell me, Amanda. Where were you? Did...did anyone hurt you?" Jonathan's face twitched with rage and his hands balled into fists. A mad fury rose on his face, and the veins on his arms protruded.

"There's no time," Amanda said. "They're coming."

"Great. Let those bastards come. I'll show them with whom they messed up."

"Jonathan, we have to go," I said. The look on his face was still fierce and the way his chest rose and fell with rage was kind of unsettling to watch. The moment I touched him, he pushed me aside so hard, I'd fallen had Amanda not held me.

"Jonathan!" She shouted. "What's wrong with you? You're not taking your pills, are you?"

"Someone kidnaps you and you're talking about pills? Freaking pills?" Jonathan said, his brows together. As concern seeped back to his face, his anger seemed to fade away. "You were gone for a month, Amanda, for one freaking month!"

"Did you take your pills?"

"No, I didn't. I'm sorry," Jonathan said so quickly I doubted if I heard it right. I looked at him curiously. Granted I didn't know him, he didn't come off so violent.

Jonathan walked towards Amanda. He moved a strand of hair off her cheek, and held her face before his eyes. He kissed her forehead. "I'm sorry I didn't trust you earlier when you warned me of these men. It's my fault. And I swear I'll make every one of them pay."

"I know you worry about me." Amanda smiled. "But what's important is that I'm here standing right with you. And now we must leave."

"But what if it's too late?"
