Harry's POV
I decided to let it go, but seeing her there, just lying there, brought back painful memories that no one knew about, not even Lou.
I shouldn't have let Jake go that night. I knew better than that. It was all my fault, I could have stopped the whole thing, but I didn't, I just walked away from the mess that I created. Rather irresponsible of me, wouldn't you say?
The next morning, Louis and I walked to The nearest Starbucks downtown and waited in line for our teas. Just then, in walks none other than Sneaker, or Monet, herself. Trailing behind her was a maddengly fit guy, maybe Louis age. Was that a twinge of jealousy I felt? Nah, how could it be? I barely knew the girl. But she sure was a cute one, maybe something could happen if we had met under different circumstances.
I turn around and she squeals and says hi to Lou and I.
"This is Charlie," she explains,"he's my best friend." I don't know why, but I felt weird and overly compassionate towards her.
"hello there Charlie," I manage to say as I hold out my hand for a friendly shake with the bloke wearing a red muscle tee. He receives in a firm handshake.
Charlie turns toward Sneaker and asks,"what should I get for my girl?"
"her favorite is soy latte," she answers. He kisses her on the top of the head as he says,"what would I do without you?"
She just laughs. Oh that laugh. I sure wish I could make her laugh like that. It sounded like bells and fairies and wind against willow trees. goodness, what's gotten into me?! Charlie orders for himself and his 'girl' which I am so relieved about, that at least means Monet isn't his girlfriend. He soon orders and says bye to her and I relize she hasn't ordered.
"hey, um, can I order you a drink?" I ask rather shyly.
"sure!I'd love that!"
