************************************************************************************************************  Background

In this one shot One Direction never existed. This is a series of flashbacks Louis is having. The text in bold reprsent present day; and the rest is his memories.

************************************************************************************************************Louis stood looking over all the moving boxes he would have to load into the truck. With a sigh, he scanned his eyes over all his old possessions and random clutter. He didn’t pay much attention to what all the things were; he just knew he would have to haul it all to his new house. He walked over and picked up the box closest to him and started to walk it over to the truck. Louis peered down into the box as he set it down; something shiny from inside caught his eye. He looked closer and realized it was the nameplate of his high school yearbook. He yanked the book out from underneath the other contents of the box. It was from his senior year. All the memories flooded back to him as he flipped through the pages – he hadn’t looked through this thing in years.

He continued to flip the pages, until he saw a picture that startled him. He opened back up to the page the picture was on, his eyes traced all the little details of the junior’s photo. He took his eyes to the names next to the rows of pictures. Harry Styles. Louis felt a giant pit grow in his stomach. He sat on the edge of the truck and stared at the picture. The memories from that high school year with Harry Styles came back to him.

Louis had been walking down the hall when he saw an unfamiliar student wandering slowly. He looked lost. Being a fairly outgoing person Louis decided to talk to the boy and maybe help him find where he was going.

“Hey,” Louis said coming up behind the boy. The boy didn’t really say anything but his expression was enough to give Louis the hint that he needed help. “Do you need help finding your class or something?” Louis offered.

“Um, yeah actually,” the boy said slightly embarrassed, “where is C12?”

“Oh, it’s right down here!” Louis said and led him in the right direction. “So, you must be new right?”

            “Yeah,” the boy answered.

            “Where you from?”

“I just moved here from Holmes Chapel in Cheshire,”

“Oh cool!” Louis answered with enthusiasm. “Well, here we are,” Louis said stopping at the door of the classroom. “My name’s Louis,” he said facing the boy and holding out his hand for a shake.

“I’m Harry,” the boy shook back and then proceeded to open the door to C12.

“Wait,” Louis stopped him before he pushed the door open, “you should sit with me at lunch today,” Louis offered since he figured he new kid probably didn’t have anywhere to go.

“Sure, I’ll look for you,” Harry smiled and then walked into the room.

That day, Louis and Harry ate lunch together. Louis admired Harry’s calmness, for being in a new school and all. The two boys instantly clicked.

Next Louis reminisced on the day he admitted it to himself.
