Escape from the Dead

"What the heck?!" Jennifer shouted, blasting my eardrums. "Is this what I think this is?" Nancy asked, fear coating her voice. Riri just looked at the television, her jaw dropping to the floor and her eyes wide in shock. Well, for me, I just looked at each of them in turn, as if pleading with them to tell me that this was all just a dream. How could this be happening? Now, believe me when I say that I'm a big fan of The Walking Dead and I really believed that a zombie apocalypse would happen. But I hadn't expected it to happen now. At this point of my life, when everything was so perfect. I had gotten admission to the university I wanted to go to and lessons were to start next week. Why now?!

"Have you gotten everything?" Riri asked Jennifer. After we figured out what had happened, we decided to just get our stuff first and go to our houses to see if our parents were there. We were right now at Jennifer's house. When we had entered the house, there had been blood smeared all over the walls and a rotting corpse of a zombie. But no signs of Jennifer's parents and her younger sister, Cassie. The whole place was like a nightmare come alive. The only advantage of us going to Jennifer's place was that her father had kept a few guns in a room and we were able to get them out. Now, we had weapons and some supplies from the house. We then went to Nancy's house to check if her parents were there. However, mysteriously, her parents were not at home as well. We then moved on to my house. The whole while, I was silently praying that they were alive and safe. But who knew that my prayers were not going to be answered.
